At the request of one of my players this past Sunday, today’s Story Time is: A time when the DM trolled the entire party in some way.

???: Hey, what kinda races you got for this weirdo setting?
DM: You want to build a character too?
???: Sure! Not just gonna sit around and watch.
DM: Well… There’s earth ponies, pegasi, unicorns–
???: Pass.
Rainbow Dash: Ooh! You should totally be a bat-pony!
???: That sounds… kinda rad. But it’s still a pony; just one that went to Hot Topic. What else?
DM: I suppose you could play as a minotaur, a diamond dog, a griffon…
???: A what? You’ve got griffons as a race? We’re talking about the mythological half-lions, half-eagles, right?
DM: Yep.
Gilda: Heck yeah. Put me down as a griffon.
Rainbow Dash: Awesome! Wait, why can’t I be a griffon?!
