During the time when the Three Pony Kingdoms’ seed of conflict was growing, Bat Ponies did not stick to one side, but made a political relationship according to the profit. They seemed cheap and untrustworthy, but they were the truly intelligent ones. As a result, when other races formed an alliance with any one of three pony races ended up in destructive damage in the final war, Bat Ponies were able to preserve its power. Perhaps this was possible for the ones who hangs upside-down, which grants them a whole new perspective? Source
