“The Realm of Dreams is a very volatile place, accessible only to those who sleep. Every dreamer has a personal space that is usually inaccessible to other dreamers, where he or she can create almost anything with his or her own imagination. However, as is it not a physical realm, it is also a place for spirits to visit minds, from benign guardians to hordes of destructive demons and monsters, which they might encounter when they wander outside their personal dreamscapes.
 
That is why the Guardian of Resting Minds sends thousands of spirits, who tend to appear in the form of gryphons, to escort lost dreamers away from the vicious creatures that lurk in this realm, back into the safety of their own minds. However, he does not send immediately escort some dreamers back into the real world, but lets them spend time in the Realm of Dreams to give them messages in the form of visions.
 
Some dreamers, like the boy in this picture, stayed in longer times outside their minds to fight the horrors of that realm. By doing so, they end up being able to think more quickly and sharply in various areas, from solving complicated formulas, to utilising abilities granted by the Divine Powers (if the user has any) more effectively.”
 
This very drawing, inspired somewhat by this GIF , is based on an invented mythology that I created for the setting of my own stories. Here, Gilda helps a boy navigate through the dangerous Realm of Dreams, as he fends off hordes of demons that attempt to destroy him and devour his soul.
 
Anything that happens next is up to you. I would like to see your story to continue his adventures: will he survive and end up becoming stronger from this unexpected training, or would he succumb as prey to the horrors around him?
