Summary: Gallus stays at the Hotel Mazarin in New Orleans so he can rest. However, his friend, Silverstream, wakes up him hoping she can stay with him despite not realizing she did not pay the manager first.
In New Orleans, a place where people play music, dance, and eat, everyone and everything seems mostly busy and crowded with people around. However, at the Hotel Mazarin, it was silent for a griffon named Gallus, who is staying at the hotel for one day.
“In you go! The premium king hotel room is the perfect spot for you!” The hotel manager nicely allows Gallus to walk into his new room, which he finds so comfortable as he can lay and rest on the king bed.
“Why, thank you so much, sir. I always wanted a king room because I feel like I’d be king of all griffons at this state!” Gallus appreciates the manager for giving him the best room he could ever discover at any hotels in his whole life. “I’m so happy this is what I wanted. Good thing I came to this city for the best hotel in Louisiana!”
The manager closes the door and he lets Gallus explore his wonderful king room.
With Gallus experiencing what it is like living in a king room at a hotel, he takes a look around seeing a bathroom, a television, a coffee maker, and a refrigerator, plus a scenic balcony view.
“Living in a room like this one is absolutely great!” Gallus finds everything in the premium king hotel room astonishing, excellent and fantastic. “Everyone will recognize as a king one day in the future. I’m sure they’ll me become king and even see me as a royal guard.”
Gallus takes a seat on the king bed and sees the door for the balcony closed, so he decides to open it and get some fresh air.
Once Gallus takes a view near the balcony, he sees the courtyard done in the style of New Orleans. He also sees several residents down below, and while he’s looking down below. However, some people have their balcony doors open from the other hotel on the other side.
“Hey, how’s it going, Gallus?” Someone’s name called out for Gallus from front.
When Gallus tilts his head up, he sees that it is a woman with medium blonde hair wearing a blue shirt with his name on it, which says “I Love Gallus”, meaning she is a fan of him.
Gallus was stunned when he would have thought some humans have adored him and he is popular to the fans. He watched the woman take photos while he kept staring directly at her. She definitely was finding herself taking an interest towards him.
“How do you know I’m over her and you’re over there in the other hotel?” Gallus asked.
“Because I just saw you open up the door and I was wondering what kind of bird just showed up and it is a griffon!” The woman flirts with Gallus from nearby. “You’re my Number one fan!”
“What a pretty nice thing for you to say!” Gallus sheepishly waved his claws at the woman, who waved at him back before she closed her balcony door.
Couple minutes later, Gallus has been resting on the bed with his balcony door still open while things have mostly silent outside. Little did he know that someone is looking for him from below the top floor.
Silverstream, who is on the very bottom floor, has been calling out Gallus’ name, but she has not received any answers yet. She calls his name out for a fourth time, but still no answer.
“Hey, Gallus, are you there?” Silverstream tries knocking on the front door, but she doesn’t see one person near the front door, leaving her confused.
Looking above her head, Silverstream sees some balcony doors open, but she is trying to figure out which room has Gallus in it, so she flaps her wings upwards and searches for him very carefully.
“He’s nowhere on the first floor… That sucks.” Silverstream spots a family with one son watching TV.
Trying again and not giving up just yet, the hippogriff flies up higher until she finally finds Gallus in his room sleeping. Anxious at first, Silverstream was determined to wake up and talk with him about something.
Silverstream lands in Gallus’ room in a safe manner, and she flies just next towards him while she hears him sleeping not so silently.
“Hey, um, wake up. I’m came in to see you!” The hippogriff said into the griffon’s ear.
Unfortunately, Gallus did not reply, still snoring loudly, leaving Silverstream annoyed on why he won’t get up and notice that she’s arrived to see him.
So, Silverstream finds another idea. She taps on him with only her index claw nicely.
Hoping that the sleeping, laid-back griffon could wake up, Silverstream just sat down on the floor and wait for Gallus to get up. Seconds later, Gallus eventually woke up and she stood back up on all four legs and is happy to see him upon the latter looking directly at her in the face. She hugged him unexpectedly, though he still accepted it.
“I didn’t knew you would be here until I heard you calling out my name while I was taking a rest. You should’ve told me.” Gallus warned Silverstream to be more careful when she searches for him, no matter where they go.
“But I did multiple times.” Silverstream said back, promising Gallus she’s not lying. “I’ve been looking for you from the bottom floor up to this floor!”
“How did you get all the from way the first floor up this floor?” Gallus questions his friend about why she is in his room in the first place.
Silverstream answered Gallus’ question, stating, “I flapped my wings to make it up all the way here and I saw you resting and the balcony door was left open so I just snuck myself in and look for you.”
“It would’ve been better if you just took the stairs or an elevator. That would be the only way you wouldn’t have been acting sneaky like that. It’s not cool.” Gallus gives Silverstream advice that next time they are at a hotel, she should enter the hotel first and look for the stairs or the elevator and find him.
“Well, I wasn’t sure if the doors were opened or not, so I just tried finding the quickest way to find you.” Silverstream told Gallus.
“Anyways, where’s Smolder, Yona, Sandbar and Ocellus? Have you seen them lately?” Gallus asks Silverstream about where the rest of their friends are, noticing that they aren’t anywhere in New Orelans.
Silverstream responded and made her claim, replying, “They’re in Baton Rouge. While they wanted to visit that city, I told them that I wanted to see you after I saw you on the news the past hour or two. So, now it’s the two of us alone, we can spend some time together without the others! Oh, wouldn’t you say this is more exciting and less disappointing?”
“I-I’m not really sure about letting you stay with me. I mean, I paid myself money to stay at this place and you haven’t, so I don’t know what the manager would say…” Gallus said nervously.
The manager who is outside in the hallway trying to clean the dust off the floor is hearing the conversation between Silverstream and Gallus in the latter’s room.
“But even if I didn’t pay and you did, the manager should just allow to me stay in this hotel with you for a day! You are my friend!” Silverstream holds her claws with Gallus’ claws, refusing to leave the hotel.
“What are these two even babbling on about?” The manager wondered as he opened the door and enter Gallus’ room, interrupting his conversation with Silverstream.
Gallus and Silverstream react in shock when the manager entered Gallus’ room, who was acting curious knowing what Silverstream is doing at the hotel when she should not be.
“You, I want an answer from you right now about why you are inside the Hotel Mazarin!” The manager points his finger at the hippogriff with his right eyebrow raised up. He was definitely not tolerating any uninvited guests at the hotel who didn’t even pay him one bit.
“I came all the way up here from flying through the balcony and enter my friend’s room while he was sleeping.” Silverstream explained to the manager.
“You said what? You’re telling me that you came all the way up on this floor using wings and snuck into his room without permission?!” The manager looked furious and he was about to kick her out immediately if she didn’t do it by herself.
Silverstream gave a nervous response as she said with a worried look on her face, “Umm…”
“Do you not understand that those who don’t pay me gets in trouble?” The manager tells Silverstream that what she’s doing was wrong and that she’ll face consequences.
“But he’s a friend of mine… I can’t leave him behind… I love him so much to death!” Silverstream begged the manager not to kick her out, rejecting his words and wanted to be with Gallus for the rest of the day.
“Whether he’s your friend or not, I’m still not allowing any uninvited guests who don’t pay staying in this hotel! Get out!” The manager suggested Silverstream leaves the building.
A tearful Silverstream begs the manager not to kick her out of the Hotel Mazarin building. She replied with a teardrop coming from her right eye, “No, please don’t kick me out, please don’t kick me, please let me stay with him…!”
“If you don’t get out this hotel, I’m calling the police!” The manager threatened to call the police on his phone unless Silverstream flies out the hotel when told.
Gallus knew it was hard to say goodbye to his friend, but he talked with Silverstream and told her that she had to leave the hotel right now or she will be facing the consequences if she doesn’t comply.
However, Silverstream argued, saying, “Gallus, I’m not leaving you! I love you! You know I do!”
“If he says leave the hotel, just do it.” Gallus told Silverstream, being as nice as possible to her so that the manager doesn’t call the police on her.
Silverstream was left with no choice but to leave by force. She waved goodbye towards her friend as she sadly flew out the balcony with guiltiness knowing what she did was wrong. Wherever she was heading for next remains unclear, but Gallus did admit that he felt ashamed of himself for not closing the balcony door before she came in.
The manager told Gallus with a serious expression on his face, “Close the door and do not even allow another unwanted guest in my hotel anymore!”
“Yes, sir. Understood.” Gallus replies as the manager shuts the door behind him while he closes the balcony door and makes sure that it doesn’t happen again.
Gallus goes back on the bed and reads a magazine titled ‘Vogue’, which is about about famous celebrities. The front cover depicts a picture of Taylor Swift wearing sunglasses and a blue sweater.
“Taylor Swift, huh? I wanna meet her one day and sing along with her.” Gallus laughs upon seeing Taylor in the magazine. He decides to read about her for the rest of the day.
