the love and community of the apples, and the bright ambition of the glimmers. what a match made in heaven, right?
an imperfect family at heart, with two parents struggling to figure out what they want from each other. as well as two kids who want to be what their parents want, it’s all a knot of confusion, hope and pleading for an answer. yet the glimmer-apples hold on tight to each other and the handles, as more and more chaos enters their lives in their insecurities, flaws and misdirected frustration.
these guys do love each other, but unfortunately, their relationships with one another are fraught with misunderstandings and lack of attention.
applejack’s desire to keep her family together has a tendency to result in creating pressure that they really don’t need at the moment. while starlight in all her manic energy puts her clumsy relationships with children to it’s limits, as she attempts to connect with both her kids.
meanwhile, sym and ambrosia fight for some sort of first place in the hierarchy as starlight’s unease towards her children has her unintentionally picking favorites towards the child she can understand minimally. it’s a very, very, very tangled web of confusion, but the family works together to keep it all working.
the farm stays afloat with all of the relatives working hard at it. and the direct family’s funds stay on top of it all as starlight’s job as a magical researcher brings in the bits. helping fund both her kids and her new extended life.
as a side note! ambrosia is the older sibling, but sym was very tall for his age, so the poor ambrosia is left playing catch up in the height department.
