Thanks to the fresh burst of AtLA and TLoK fans that came from the live action Netflix show, I decided to rewatch TLoK. Aaannnd also because they put Korra in Fortnite. Anyway, The Legend of Korra has always been one of my favorite shows, and Korra x Asami is in my top 3 of all ships I like. Naturally I got really into them again and have been shamelessly indulging myself in every Korrasami fanfic known to mankind

Anyway. Korra is one of those “bruh” girls that reminds me a lot of Rainbow Dash. They’re both a little hot-headed, stubborn af, and sometimes reckless, but they’re also both really emotional people deep down who care about the wellbeing of others. Asami and Clear Sky are a bit harder to compare, given that we only know Sky for one episode, but I actually think they’re pretty similar, too. They’re both much calmer counterparts to their fiery girlfriends, and they provide very needed, collected voices of reason.

It’s never really stated in the show, but it’s kind of sort of obvious that Asami had feelings for Korra way before Korra could even begin to sort through her emotions. This is because she was very seriously debilitated after a fight with an enemy that got dangerously close to killing her. In the comics (which are canon), Korrasami go on a vacation together, and it’s here where Korra confesses that she’s always felt something for Asami, tracing all the way back to their first couple of meetings. But that she was never able to piece any of it together until she figured herself out first.

I like to think Rainbow Dash is the same way. Mostly. She likely had a very hard time sorting through her feelings, especially because she always imagined she’d end up with a pegasus mate and raise a family in Cloudsdale. Obviously, that turned out very differently. But also like Korra, she had this weird sort of lack of confidence about herself. It’s very unlike her, but realistically, she didn’t think she was even Clear Sky’s type. Dash could only compare herself to Quibble Pants, Clear Sky’s previous boyfriend, who was very mellow and absolutely not sporty in the slightest. Dash is like, the complete opposite of him.

Same with Korra and Asami. Korra tells Asami how she didn’t think Asami would have felt the same because she knows she’s intense and headstrong, and Asami has always been so put-together in contrast. What Korra and Dash don’t know is that there’s more to them than what they think. Korra is Korra before she’s the Avatar, and Rainbow Dash is Rainbow Dash before she is the stoic element of loyalty. Before she’s even a Wonderbolt.

Anyway. Like Asami, Clear Sky is by FAR the better at flirting. When Dash attempts, she gets all worked up and flustered. For the first couple months of their relationship, Rainbow Dash can barely handle physical contact with Clear Sky. Not that she doesn’t love it- she’d just get really nervous.
