Ohoho~ I have been waiting for this one!
 
So, for those keeping track, in this reboot AU thingy I’m doing, Luna is the main princess instead of Celestia. Many MANY fans prefer her to her sister, (myself included) as she’s a far more complex and relatable character. Personally, her clashing blues always bugged me, so I made her as pale as the moon. I even gave her a kimono! But what’s THIS? I’m including Tantabus with her?! What is this black magic? WHAT AM I DOING? Well, hold your horses folks, I’ll get to that. Since Luna hasn’t banished to the moon in this version, I had to change things up a bit.
 
Onto the backstory! Oh boy, this is going to be a long one.
 
One thousand years ago, Princess Luna ruled beside Princess Celestia. Together, they fought against any threat to Equestria. Over time however, Luna began to wonder why these foes were trying so hard to take over their home. She tried to ask her sister if they could find a more peaceful solution, but Celestia laughed at the notion. One day, Luna met a creature born of nightmares known as Tantabus. Instead of fighting her, Luna took the chance to converse with the nightmare. Night after night, the two got to know each other, and eventually, fell in love.
 
When the rest of Equestria learned of their love, Luna was the first to calm everypony. Once they saw how sweet and genuine their love was, they were quick to accept and celebrate their relationship. This enraged Celestia, who had always been the center of attention. Now all of the kingdom’s love was directed to the nighttime lovers. Now that she had a say in matters, Luna was more than able to talk to the creatures and monsters, easily befriending them without a spark of force. Outraged by Luna’s growing fame and power, Celestia turned bitter and ended up becoming a monster herself; Day Breaker.
 
Consumed by her pride, she tried to use the Elements of Harmony against her sister. However, nopony could use all the elements on their own, not even a princess. They turned on her, banishing her to the sun for a thousand years. Although heartbroken from the event, Luna and Tantabus took it upon themselves to rule Equestria. Over the centuries, they kept their kingdom in peace. As the years tick by, Luna is still searching for the lost Elements, which spread across the land after that dark day. It’s only a matter of time before Day Breaker returns, and Luna can only hope her student Twilight Sparkle can find them all in time.
