Summertime Blues is a 23 year old earth pony mare originally from Neigh Orleans, but now living in central Trottingham, where she happily works as a resident singer in a bar, where she plays live music and sings for the bar’s patrons. This little mare with a Cajun accent loves nothing more than to put a smile onto somepony’s face!
Calm, relaxed, and possessed of an easy, but infectious camaraderie, Summer is a pony that loves to spread joy wherever she goes, especially through music- but is more than willing to just simply talk and carouse with anypony she meets. She has a large circle of friends that she takes great pains to stay in contact with, and thus is another Equestrian adopter of the mobile phone.
Born to a branch of the Pear family, Summer’s immediate family are all farmponies who own and work an extensive orchard complex on the south coast of Equestria. Her love of music may have taken her in a different direction to her family, but she is not estranged from them and loves to visit regularly.
Physically, Summer- though of the same proportions as Princess Twilight Sparkle when she first became an alicorn, is considerably smaller than the Princess, and not much bigger than a filly in her late teens. Despite her being an Earth pony, Summer’s magical connection to the ground is, and always has been, very weak, and working the land in the manner of her kin is effectively impossible for her.
As mentioned in the above quote, Summer prefers to sing and play more uplifting pieces of music, but she is equally as capable with more melancholic or straight-up sad songs as well, and will perform them without complaint. However, she has, as she says, “Four left hooves,” and is absolutely hopeless at dancing, herself, tending to trip and misstep in the attempt- even if she laughs off the inevitable falls.
Though she can play a wide array of instruments to a proficient level, her first love has and always be her beloved old acoustic guitar- an instrument she inherited from her grandfather after his passing many years ago. She plays in the same style as he always did, continually honouring his memory.
When it comes to more personal matters, Summer is openly bisexual, and has no qualms regarding the species of a potential partner. Currently, she is with a male Griffon named Gareth, who is an ex-mercenary, who now works as a notable and respected police officer. From everything that is known, the two have a very healthy, happy relationship together.
It is noted that the local scuttlebutt says that nopony would be surprised if this pair got married one day, most likely sooner rather than later.
