“…radius, ulna, and humerus were broken completely, but I believe that with six to eight weeks
in that cast and subsequent physical therapy, you should be back in the air in a few months!
Pearl?”
Pearl Diver was too occupied with his wing to properly listen to Tender Heart. He looked at his
right wing, only a short while ago carrying him freely through the air, now after an unfortunate
incident involving a delivery pegasus, was encased in a plaster cast and supported with a sling.
Despite being unable to move his wing even an inch, it still hurt a lot. Hearing his name being
called, he snapped out of his thoughts and turned towards the doctor.
“Oh! Yes… I understand… it’s just going to suck being unable to fly… do you think I’ll still be
able to turn into a seapony at least?”
The hippogriff gently touched the necklace strung around his neck. Tender Heart nodded and
addressed Pearl gently.
“I consulted with some hippogriff doctors on this, I was assured that your cast will not hinder
your seapony form, in fact it’ll disappear completely! But your healing won’t resume until you
transform back into a hippogriff, so unfortunately it won’t be a substitute for the cast. But I’ve
tried to make you as comfortable as possible, just keep the sling on, it’ll stop the cast tugging on
your back.”
Pearl sighed but still managed to let out a little smile in spite of the pain.
“Thank you doctor…”
Tender Heart smiled back.
“You’re very welcome Pearl. Just take it easy, you’ll be okay.”
