Olenia, First to Fight!
On a frosty morning in April, 1009, Changeling Panzers crossed over the Olenian border, setting Equus and the world down a path of fury and bloodshed. Despite assertions by their commanders that the Olenians would pose no serious threat, only Changeling Army Group would come close to achieving the lofty goals set for them in the first weeks of the offensive, Chrysalis’s tide staunched temporarily by a stalwart and spirited defense.
Though the Olenian people stood alone, their army facing shortages of personnel and equipment, their air, naval and tank forces outnumbered, they still stood to defend their homes and ways of life. While the Changeling regime would have you believe their invasion went off without any problems, capitulating the nation in just a matter of months, the stories of Olenia’s heroes, who stood as Equus’ first line of defense against the insectoid invader, shall always be remembered by those stand to be inspired by their daring acts of courage and selflessness!
In just 3 months of combat, the Olenian armed forces managed to destroy or capture nearly fifteen percent of the entire Changeling Panzer force. A significant number of air craft were destroyed, either by the fledgling Olenian air forces or by ground fire. Numerous Kriegsmarine ships were damaged or sunk, with much of the Royal Olenian Navy able to find safety in friendly waters. Large parts of the civilian government and military command were able to find refuge in Canterlot alongside the rightful Queen Velvet, forming a government in exile. A Changeling Heavy Cruiser was sunk by an aging fortification, crewed only by reservists and conscripts, who sunk the mighty vessel without a single casualty.
The tale of Olenia will not be remembered by its defeat, but by its perpetual belief in victory! Even now, occupied for 4 long years and having undergone constant abuses by the Changelings and their puppets, the Olenian people still fight on, yearning to be free once again from the clutches of outsiders.
Olenia will fight on! And Olenia will be free once again!
