Bio
Whether stepping into a human occupied world, a pony one or one dominated by creatures you can barely imagine, Tommy is cocky, arrogant and convinced he’s seen it all before. The act of being able to jump from reality to reality has lost its bluster to him, and while he once might’ve taken the well being of those worlds with seriousness, now he just treats them as playgrounds. Places to see or cause as much havoc as he possibly can before hopping to the next. Of course, since he tends to go looking for trouble, trouble never hesitates to find its way back to him.
Tommy’s never afraid to rattle off cryptic messages or outright predict the futures of people he might’ve already met in other realities, consequences be damned. Even meeting alternate incarnations of himself doesn’t seem to phase him. Strangely though, he’s rather reluctant to mention anything about the Equestria he came from…
So I had this ready a while and it’s a little late coming, but I finally put together a full reference sheet for Tommy. I absolutely have to thank Dustymooneye who because of a commission I got from him helped with some of the final details for this character. Especially the design of that weapon of his. Every time I’ve drawn the human Thomas its been with ghostly daggers, but I really wanted a change of pace in the last year or so. I can name several influences on that from turok to tribes vengeance to even warframe/dark sector most recently, but the glowing discus works so well on the pony version that I think it’s here to stay.
So yeah, this version of Thomas now has a proper pony name and is officially his own separate entity from the human one on my other account. Two physical changes since the last time I drew him are the cutie mark for one. Yep, gone is the short lived accidental pepsi logo. >////< That alone never stopped bothering me, but also, if a cutie mark is supposed to be something that defines a ponies life and what they do best from the moment they get it, then this one by far fits him more. ^^
And the second is I’ve gone back to a look far more reminiscent of the show. I really would’ve liked to find the middle ground and I know I’m not perfect with pony vectors, but I just can’t help it. The flash style of the show just resonates so much more with me when it comes to pony art. :3
