Interesting question. Well, to be completely honest, there are plenty of adolescent fillies who (usually if they don’t take good care of themselves) look far older than their actual age, and can be mistaken for full-grown mares. There really is no concrete physical difference. The biggest, most common difference would have to be development in the frontal lobe. In other words, the way they think. In other other words, their maturity!
