Description

This is my entry for Day 1 of Equestria Daily’s Newbie Artist Training Grounds VI - A Pony Standing / A Pony Chilling. As previously stated in my journal, I will be using this event as a reason to practice drawing anthros/humanoids. So it made sense to start by figuring out what sort of proportions I should use. The first sketch here is the current refinement of the style I’ve been using in my recent drawing, as first seen here. For the second sketch, I worked out how the first sketch would look standing upright, but with a humanoid torso and arms. And the final sketch is my rarely-seen OC Thorn, who was a rather convenient choice for this image. And yes, that’s a snowball she’s got there; somepony’s gonna be ‘chilling’ soon enough!Feel free to ignore that big green blotch on her leg; for some reason my marker abruptly started producing massive amounts of ink there. I kept needing to wipe it on a paper towel in order to finish this drawing, so I’ll likely not be drawing any other light green characters until I can get a replacement for it.Update: Thorn is now colored in. I didn’t have time to do that yesterday.tumblr linkCredit goes to and for creating MLP:FiM.BronyCon Art Challenge progress: 4 (out of 57).
