Artist’s DA comment:
For the first time in centuries, a Magnificent Butterfly is being ignored in favor of its drabber, but rare, cousin the Lesser Woodbark Flutterby.
Naturally the poor creature is indignant, but what can it do? The young dragon is obviously eager to pounce on something, with only his foster sister’s warnings keeping the Flutterbys safe.
But Magnificent Butterflies are a dime a dozen; the unicorn probably wouldn’t mind if a single specimen was converted into dragon food…
…is what I thought while sketching this. Also, that Spike has passed his cute baby days behind, and is now evolving into the terror all older siblings recognize as a ‘little brother’.
Maybe Twilight spaced out breakfast today? The little dragon looks very hungry to me.
-The only other pic of Spike and Twi is sad and a little on the gory side. I drew it just to appease my own hunger for tragic endings, so for now this pic is the last of the Twi-Spike ditty.
