Description

Near the end of Final Fantasy IV: the After Years, you have to fight a brainwashed Bahamut along with one of the Mysterious Girls, or Maenads. You can’t attack the Maenad at all, all your attacks must be directed towards Bahamut. As his timer counts down to his extremely powerful Megaflare, the Maenad attacks you with powerful offensive magic, status-inducing spells such as paralyzing glare, and casts Haste on Bahamut to make him count down faster.

Any player that’s played the first FF4 will know to cast Reflect on the party before Bahamut finishes counting down to bounce his Megaflare back at him, right?

WRONG!

Right before Bahamut uses Megaflare, the Maenad uses Black Hole, which eliminates all status buffs on your party including Reflect. Megaflare will hit everyone, and unless you’re overleveled your spellcasters will die.

To add insult to injury, if you failed to save Asura and Leviathan, or if Rydia isn’t in your party, Bahamut will die permanently.
