Original Description:

Pencil sketch colored with SAI and a WACOM tablet. This is my entry for matsuban ‘s Cheeselings OC Contest, featuring her Mary Sue OC, Auntie Dote.

The background is a bit discordant with the character art. YMMV as to how problematic this is, but there is a tl;dr explanation: I had initially planned on doing a more painterly version, but I did not have time (so I thought) to fully paint over (rather than under) the lines. The dark line art combined with the backlit shading didn’t look all that great, so I ended up doing an alternate background and, when the shading still didn’t look right, I changed that too ( fav.me/d74adqi ). Well, it turned out that the new shading worked pretty well with my old background (which I liked more anyway), even if the light source is wonky.
