Benjamin
Aaand this is the last reference sheet for boi lol. Ben has gone through so many changes throughout the years, but this is the last update I promise. I always made him semi-pony semi-draconequus, and it made him look so weird and wonky, that I finally decided to make him normal draconequus size. I’ve already described him a lot in other drawings, so this will be kind of a repeat but with a little more info.~

Sooo where to start? What started out as a small friendship, turning into best friends, and later on into lovers was truly what a fairy tail would look like in real life for Discord and Flutter Shy. After being wed, they spent their honey moon in the chaos realm, traveling to the Crystal Empire, and onto a voyage close to Mount Eris. A few months later, Flutter Shy started to feel weird, and after a visit to the doctor, they both found out they would be expecting a baby. Both were delighted to expect their first baby, and when Ben was born, they both cried at how cute their tiny baby was.

• Benjamin is the oldest child from Flutter Shy and Discord, which as the first draconequus to be born on thousands of years, Discord was beaming with joy to teach his young and fluffy son to flip reality upside down. Obviously only inside the house, Momma Flutters orders. Ben, like his mother, was very shy as a baby and a toddler. For the first few years, Flutter Shy kept him at home, him being homeschooled by Discord to control his powers. When Ben reached the age of 5, Flutter Shy finally gave in to take him to Miss Cheerilee’s school. She felt more confident as the school had become more included to other species such as griffons, some minotaurs, and even some dragons. What ever could go wrong? Well, even though the school had become more included, bullying still persisted among the children. Ben had trouble making friends, many correlating it to his appearance being scary. He would spend his lunch time alone watching the other children play. Even in class, his classmates would whisper near him how weird and ugly he looked, the most often would be that he would eat them. It got to a point where a griffon pup, Agatha, that shouted at him for standing too close to the group of children playing. “Get back you weirdo! You will eat us and I know it! You are evil and ugly that’s why no pony wants to hang out with you!”. Miss Cheerilee hearing the commotion, came to Ben’s rescue, but the damage had already been done. Staying after class with Agatha, her parents, Miss Cheerilee, the group of students and his parents, did stop the harassment and comments, but it never fixed his social life. The children still stayed far away from him, and Ben didn’t try making a friend after that.
• Still, it didn’t deter him from being happy at home. After doing his homework, he would spend his afternoons hanging out with his mother and accompanying her wherever she went. Discord did try to make him feel better, telling him he was unique and would try to teach him magic tricks with chaos magic. But it seemed he would just learn it out of expectation rather than fun. Discord was not disappointed, but rather felt awful for not knowing how to help his own son. So he would just try to be at best a good father by being there for him. He would still teach him about casting his magic, and another obstacle was he would get sudden fire breath surges, so they would spend their time in the Chaos realm burning stuff. That seemed to relieve Ben a bit, as it was a way of letting his frustrations out. They would have fun just breathing fire at each other or at things. It was those times Discord cherished the most with his son. Now, Flutter Shy was not a fan of fire, but it did make him a helpful assistant when baking or making dinner.
• Talking about dinner, Ben is an excellent cook. Learning from his mother, cooking is his favorite past time. Not having a cutie mark, it made him feel inferior to other ponies. So having something he feels good at makes him feel useful and accomplished. He did give an application to start working in Twilights school of magic as a cook for the cafeteria, which makes Flutter Shy happy. That maybe that can be a chance for his son to socialize with other creatures. Not that she doesn’t like having him around in her sanctuary.
• Ben, as any older brother, is a bit overprotective for his sisters. Though he may not admit it, he does care for them deeply, mostly as he doesn’t want them to experience the same things he has. He may exaggerate a bit when those situations arise, mostly with boys, telling them to leave and shut the door in their faces. His favorite thing is to scare them as soon as he opens the door and just see them running away.
• At home he is a very clean and organized. His room, being in second from his mom, is the cleanest by far. But the only reason is because he liked to take long and deep naps. He is a very sleep boy, and can be a bit grumpy when woken up suddenly, which might not matter to his sisters at all.
• One thing Ben wonders the most, are his lack of wings. His mother being a pegasus and his father having wings, even though each might be different, Ben wonders why he was never born with wings. His two sisters have wings, his cousin Willow has wings, so why not him? It has always bothered him that he looks standoffish next to his family, also due to his dark brown colors compared to his brightly colored family. He thinks about this a lot, but prefers not to talk to anyone about it.
  -The animal part his body consist of- bear front paws, dragon legs, tail, and horns, goat head, elongated and stretched out pony body. He has bear canines, but the are much smaller.

This description wasn’t as long as the other ones, just because I have already described him in his other refs. I really enjoy making these refs, I’m really looking forward to re-making my other next gen. Maybe Luna’s children will be next :>
