Oh okay. I was just hoping they weren’t gonna just go with “hey it’s a show for little girls so why not just have a little girl be the only human child welcomed in this show because boys hate ponies”. But I can assure you that MLP has appealed to boys WAY before G4 was even announced as a series.
I’ve seen quite a bit of G1*, so I’ll give you more information than you ever wanted to hear:
Megan is not the only human. As TrukkinDuck said, there were two other kids named Molly and Danny, so there’s a human boy who tags along on the adventures too but I don’t remember why.
There were plenty of other humans who had single-episode appearances:
There were also a few humanoid creatures who look and act nearly identical to humans, such as Beezen, the traveling potion salesgoblin from The Revolt of Paradise Estate; the troll from The Magic Coins and that alter ego of him who shows up at the end, an elf named Mr. Moochick that the ponies often turn to for help; and Puck, the guy in the picture above who just sort of shows up and tags along when the ponies are on a quest, only to disappear at the end of the episode never to be seen again (good riddance!).
*This is not an exhaustive list because I haven’t seen all the episodes, but it’s enough to give you a picture of what the show was like. There was also My Little Pony Tales, where all of the characters are ponies but they act so much like humans that you could replace them all with humans and the plots wouldn’t change.
TLDR: G1 was weird.

It’s a 36 year old show targeted at little girls.

Also I’m not too familiar with G1. But please tell me Meghan isn’t the only human character they had as a part of the main cast. And by that. I mean please tell me they didn’t go with the sexist kind of route and make Meghan the only human kid to have interactions with the ponies in MLP. Because I know they’re doing it to appeal to their target demographic. But MLP doesn’t have to be only girls right?
I can tell. And I’m sorry but his design here just looks so ugly. It doesn’t even match up with the rest of the art style of G1. I mean seriously! Compare his design with Meghan Williams as a human character design.
