And here I thought the point of using an entrenching tool for melee combat was to hit the other guy with a sharpened edge of the shovel bit. The axe head on the other end would just get in the way when you need to use it as a shovel and the shovel head would throw off it’s balance when using it as an axe. Then again, that blade looks more like a fireaxe than anything that would be useful in a fight. Handy if you need to break down a wooden door, but not ideal for a fight. You will want a lighter, thinner blade that can be swung faster and will cut flesh better.  
But I guess that’s just the autist in me being bothered by that thing…
