I’m just glad this place popped up quickly after the shit started hitting the fan on Derpi. Over the course of a week or 2 the site just degraded badly with numerous trash pictures and belief/ideal wars happening everywhere. It’s quickly dying over there and it certainly doesn’t look like it will recover anytime soon.
 
So I shall stick around here for now and hope for a potential transfer of the database of Derpi over to here.

I always thought Derpi was kind of a shit site, but I stuck with it because I thought it could get better, but I guess TSP put an end to that one.

Man, I stuck with Derpibooru for nearly 8 years, ever since the fall of Ponibooru. Sucks even more that I had to leave the former on my own accord.

In a weird way, despite all the good times had on Derpi, a new start in a budding community feels refreshing. If this site (and other alternatives) can learn from Derpi’s mistakes, it has my full support.

I’ve been a part of this fandom since 2013, the beginning of Season 3. I joined Derpibooru at the height when I found out about it, seeing all the highs and lows, the Gakkening, Equestria Girls, and all the insanity in the fandom play out. I briefly left after Season 6 since I thought that people were becoming too negative and I had college to worry about. I came back when I found out the final episode would be playing in December last year. The only thing I feel right now is sadness. Sadness and disappointment, that one of the hubs of Ponydom would be brought low by its owner, who cared more for people who didn’t care than the ardent fans.

I feel like I’m reliving tumblr all over again. my home makes a choice that I’m powerless to do anything about and I’m forced to make a new account just to stay relevant anywhere. on the bright side. If the current rules stay relatively the same I can post all my art here with no issues. silver lining and all that right?… im still gonna be sad for a long time I imagine.

Yeah, I was one of those banned for no reason at all. I seriously didn’t do anything wrong at all, and when I tried to appeal to the mods of DB, they basically told me to %)#& off and never replied to me again. In some way, I feel relieved knowing well DB is falling apart and the mods who ran their site with a cruel iron fist are finally getting what they deserve. It only serves them right for their years of cruelty and tyranny.

What youre seeing is the fandom being reborn, ousting those who wish to destroy it and growing stronger
 
Remember how all the original DNP artists were all names you knew and recognized?
 
Then look at the pro censorship DNP, you had maybe 10 artists with anything significant anyone who was actually notable fucked off and became a furfag years ago and only came back to virtuesignal, then when they realized they didnt have the numbers they created a bunch of 0 image artist accounts just to DNP to inflate the numbers
 
What youre seeing is the people who actually want to take care of this community doing their job, keep calm fine, just make sure to watch for when the people we’ve ousted they try to worm their way back in like theyve “changed” after we’ve built our new rome.  
My advice is to start drawing/writing/composing/modeling and creating for the fandom if you havent already, I started drawing last year and While I dont have much Im still doing something for this community
