The mystery badge is a crypto-duck badge. Basically it’s their way of acknowledging you know how to be an asshole without pushing it far enough to earn a ban.

Is it just me being a bit ignorant and not perceptive enough or are some of Derpi’s badges getting some alt-text that’s a bit crude or somewhat racist?

Yep. You still got some of the gems from the more well known artists and occasional other good item… but for a while there it was just trash and stuff relating to the very retarded burger craze that happened over there.
 
Once the bulk uploads settle down a bit here I’m sure it will be more like Derpi in terms of content quality but not the restrictions or mod shenanigans.
 
Edit: Pretty sure those bulk uploads are putting a bit of a strain on the site atm…. none of the images on the front page have a loaded thumbnail yet. XD

Yeah. The mistake is to think that it’s a nazi tactic. It’s not. It’s a tried & true tactic that has worked for millennia. The Nazis are just one of the more recent examples.

So it wasn’t just me; the recent content was mostly garbage!

I first saw someone make this comparison to “First They Came” at the start of all the insanity. At the time it seemed so tone def to reference a poem about complacent during the rise of the Nazis in defense of Nazi content. Now, I understand how appropriate it really was.
