Cozy Glow observes her great-granddaughters from the afterlife.  
 
 
Though it wasn’t entirely intentional, someone in my Twitter feed mentioned that my last drawing with Pear Butter and Granny Smith fell just within Ponytober, so I figured why not keep up the momentum and do more spooky/scary pieces for this month? I mean I already did a creepy Queen Haven, a cult scene, Spike being trapped in a cage, and Tempest Shadow’s fierce pirate outfit. It all just fell in-line. And for this, I thought why not do a little sequel to one of the commissions of darienmerced. I loved his concept of Cozy Glow being a potential ancestor of Zipp and Pipp, and wanted to expand on the idea. I even came up with a little backstory.  
 
After establishing Zephyr Heights and becoming it’s first queen, Cozy Glow planned on expanding her kingdom at the expense of the other pony races as well as the critters of the land. But before her plans could become fully realized, she passed away of an illness. When her daughter (Zipp and Pipp’s grandmother/Queen Haven’s mother) took the throne, she directly opposed this expansion and abolished it outright. Many years later, the spirit of the tyrannical queen still lives on observing her great-granddaughters from the afterlife, specifically Pipp with her many devoted followers. The kingdom that she established so many years ago will be realized even if she has to use of her own kin to make it come to pass. A little unfinished business.  
 
Pipp of course feels uneasy, especially whenever she passes by her great-grandmother’s portrait in the hallways of the castle. She expresses her fears to her sister, but Zipp isn’t really the superstitious type.  
 
That’s my way to expanding on the idea. I might even do more for it later.
