Original Description:

“Guess who got accepted into Celestia’s school for gifted unicorns!” Charity cheered proudly, waving her acceptance letter in Carnation’s face. The colt scowled at her and rolled his eyes, pushing the letter away with his hoof.
“Hmm, I wonder who it could be,” He mocked, pretending to be lost in thought. “Fluttering Heart’s too old, and Felix is too young. Your cousin Nova isn’t any good at magic, so not him. Maybe…” he trailed off.
Charity’s smirk faltered as Carnation pulled an identical acceptance letter out of his saddlebag.
“Me?” Carnation finished. Now it was his turn to be smug.
Charity brushed off her shock, scowling at the other unicorn. “W-well, whatever! Anypony can get accepted into that school. But not everypony can pass the entrance exam,” she said. Her smile returned. “And not everypony can get into two fancy schools!” Charity pulled another acceptance letter from her bag, this one from the Canterlot Academy for Young Leaders.
Carnation laughed. “Yeah, not everypony. But at least two.” He opened his bag again and took out a letter from the same school. Charity stared at it for a moment, then narrowed her eyes at the colt. “I hate you.”

Charity and Carnation (Royal Pin and Royal Ribbon’s son) have been frenemies since childhood. They constantly try to outdo each other since both of them are prodigies who thrive off of attention and just want ponies to tell them how smart and talented they are. They both ended up going to CAYL, since Carnation didn’t pass his entrance exam for CSGU, and– though she’d never admit it– Charity didn’t want to go there without him.
