Original Description:
grand galloping gala designs!! a couple other artists have done this too and ill like their designs at the bottom of the desc pls pls check them all out < 3 I wanted to create my own designs for the gala based on their existing dresses, the ‘bad’ dresses they designed, and other outfits theyve worn!
Twilight: Midnight in Spring
-Simple shape to show off her wings and horn, a casual expression of her royalty
-Dark colors with light accents, again to emphasize the design elements and her royalty
-‘academic’ collar from her ‘ugly’ dress, scalloped edge is just for flavor
-star map of the spring sky, as the stars move as the planet orbits the sun. spring specifically because i think thats the time of the year the gala occours
-hair is up to let the dress shine, silver star hairpin from her cannon gala dress.
Rarity: Princess of Seafoam
-Large ballgown shape, in line for Rarity’s taste
-general romantic aesthetic, with the large sleeves, neckline, and hair.
-light blue and ocean aesthetic from her mermaid nightmare night costume
-silver tiara from cannon gala dress, pearls for the mermaid vibe
-loose, long hair to once again solidify the romantic angle
Rainbow Dash: Storm Warning
-SUIT TIME. inspo from her wonderbolts uniform, and her butchness
-dark colors to not detract from her rainbow hair.
-cloud motif to emphasize her weather talent.
-slicked mane and tail to fit with the suit. classy and sleek
-wonderbolts hairpin because she is a shill.
Fluttershy: At The Lily Pond
-long flowey, draped skirt from her cannon dress
-Nature theme to go with her cannon dress and taste
-teal color to go with her eyes.
-3D aplique flowers and butterflies to make up for simple dress shape
-Braid stolen from AJ’s cannon gala dress, helps with nature theme
Applejack: On The Fringe
-SUIT AGAIN. I wanted to give her a country styled suit and ended on fringe.
-white suit and fringe inspired by that one elv*s suit and other campy uses of fringe in queer fashion.
-red ombre for visual flavor, as well as the belt.
-fringe is long enough to be like a train.
-pompadour to let the fringe shine, and because it looked more masc.
Pinkie Pie: Prom Queen in Sapphire
-WE LOVE THE 80s. big and bold like her! and with the fun retro vibe of a lot of her outfits.
-bright blue to look dated and go with her eyes.
-lots of ruffles to appease the super girly side of pinkie
-big hair to complete the 80s look.
-large bow and chunky necklaces to have that real prom look
