Last month I saw a funny comic that was a variation of the “it can’t involve murder” meme. Then I saw comics of the same joke with Marvel characters, Sonic characters, Happy Tree Friends characters and Star Wars characters (can’t remember if it was Boba Fett or Mandalorian). As far as I know, the earliest use of that meme was a simple text in 2017, funnily enough with a karen as the main character. I still don’t know what the origins of that meme were (I might got the wrong name of the meme), but it was fun enough to make a version with MLP characters.
This is one of these fanarts that I’ve made in an A5 piece of paper (I usually work in an A4 format). The process was simple, but the big difference here is that the occlusion layer was done by vectors instead of a brush, just to change a couple of things to make the process more interesting. I also changed a little bit Twilight’s hairstyle for the same reason.
I often wonder why the G4 writers gave Starlight a pass with the use of magic in the last 4 seasons considering the events of season 5. And I wonder even more why they made the rest of the characters in the show completely oblivious of what she can do, like there’s no self awareness. But I think it’s one of these questions that we often ask ourselves but has no real answer, like “what was the point of Cozy Glow?” or “what was the point of Pinkie Pie jinxing the Mane 6 in the first part of Cutie Map if she didn’t trust Starlight in the first place?” or “what was the point of Discord’s twist in the end of season 9?”.
