It seems all too fitting for me, an ex-theater nerd, for Discord and Tirek’s team-up to start with him taking center stage before introducing his co-star with an absurd and dramatic flair…  

DM: Okay, so Celestia, Luna, /and Cadance/ are there.  
Rarity: Oh my. Must be rather serious indeed to interrupt their honeymoon.  
Twilight Sparkle: I guess we might as well get this alicorn conference underway. What’s the situation?  
Princess Luna: The “situation” has taken a severe turn for the worse. Last night, my sister and I were stricken by nightmares, terrible visions of ill portent.  
Princess Celestia: We hoped they weren’t true, given that Discord was still a serious threat. But we’re certain now that all of Equestria is now in greater danger than ever before. We’ve received numerous messages from around Equestria, each following the same pattern. Discord was sighted, alongside an ancient threat not seen for a thousand years. He has found a powerful ally.  
Twilight Sparkle: Wow. Okay. We all figured that was possible, but I’m still surprised he’s willing to share the spotlight like that.
