Story - Giant Mayor Mare
 
Summary: Doctor Whooves trusts Derpy and Mayor Mare that they will keep themselves out of trouble while he is visiting the Friendship School, having a meeting with Starlight. However, things get out of hand when Derpy gives Mayor Mare the growth potion, resulting in the latter becoming a giant. Now, Derpy, Doctor Whooves, Starlight and the Mane Six must stop Mayor Mare and shrink her back to normal.
 
Part 1:  
“This isn’t exactly the paperworks I wanted, Derpy.” Mayor Mare told Derpy, who was in her mailmare uniform. “Sorry, my bad.” Derpy apologized, as she was recently getting multiple letters from several in the past two days in Ponyville.
 
Mayor Mare looked a bit unamused while viewing the paperworks that contain mostly things that are science-related, such as potions, growth and shrink rays, and more.
 
“I thought you’d be interested in science as much as me and my friend, Doctor Whooves.” Derpy told Mayor Mare, hoping that Mayor Mare likes science, which she didn’t seem really interested in it.
 
“But I requested paperworks about Princess Twilight, not some silly science stuff about you and Doctor Whooves are doing!” Mayor Mare argued back, upset over Derpy being unable to give her like what she asked.
 
“There’s been too much letters and mails I’ve had from other ponies in Ponyville. I’m clearly trying the best I can to organize them all accordingly.” Derpy told Mayor Mare, as she has been lazy with the letters that the ponies have sent her back. “Like they say, Derpy is just Derpy and does silly things.” She said in a silly voice, annoying Mayor Mare.
 
Outside the town hall, Doctor Whooves was at the front door, knocking on it. “Hello, anypony home?” He asked, looking for answers.
 
“Did I just heard someone knock on the door?” Mayor Mare wondered. “Let me get the door!.” Derpy said with excitement, flying towards the door, and opened it up for Doctor Whooves.
 
“Oh, good morning, doctor.” Derpy Hooves told Doctor Whooves, noticing him knocking the door. “What can I help you with?” She asked, wondering what he needed for her this time.
 
“For a funny mare like you, I have a request for you and Mayor Mare, in which I need help with some inventions I’m making at my lab.” Doctor Whooves told Derpy Hooves and Mayor Mare, having the two assist him in his request for his work at his lab.
 
Derpy seems excited and inspired about this, but Mayor Mare rejects the Doctor’s request for her help at his laboratory.
 
“Sorry, but I have better things to do.” Mayor Mare said, crossing her hooves with her eyes closed.
 
“I think you’ll might love this!” Doctor Whooves told the mayor, giving her his paper, which reads: “Dear Derpy and Mayor, I am working on some stuff at my science lab, and I was thinking I could use some help from you both. Please visit me at science lab later today. From, Doctor Whooves.”
 
Mayor Mare eventually changed her mind and agreed with helping Doctor Whooves at his science laboratory. “See, I told you, science is important for everypony.” Derpy Hooves told her, because science makes a difference.
 
“Sure, I will help you out.” Mayor Mare told Doctor Whooves before she, Doctor Whooves and Derpy Hooves walked out the town hall and go to the doctor’s lab.
 
At Doctor Whooves’ science lab, he has been work on several projects, one was about the potions, another was about testing out some objects for work and another was science-related questions.
 
“What do you use these objects for?” Mayor Mare asked Doctor Whooves, curios about why the objects placed on the table are behind him. “Oh, that’s for a project I’m currently working on.” Doctor Whooves replied, as the objects he is using are still in progress.
 
“Hey, what does this thing do?” Derpy Hooves asked, grabbing a potion with with wings like hands. “Derpy, stop!” Doctor Whooves angrily told Derpy Hooves, not allowing one pony doing anything bad with his potions or any other objects in his lab.
 
Mayor Mare walked over towards Doctor Whooves and Derpy Hooves, and she saw the latter putting the potion back on the counter.
 
“I had no idea you’ve been collecting potions.” Mayor Mare told Doctor Whooves, looking at several potions, some of them being drinkable for ponies and other potions are not drinkable.
 
“Why, thank you, my lady!” Doctor Whooves replied in a more handsome-like voice, as he’s been collecting multiple potions for a few years for all the projects he has worked on in his past projects and still using in them in his current and upcoming ones. “My potions have different effects depending on which one you use, but be careful, some can be very dangerous and all ponies should be aware of that.” He warned the two mares.
 
“You mean something like growth potions?” Derpy Hooves asked Doctor Whooves, feeling a bit worried that growth potions are really dangerous for ponies to drink anyway.
 
“Absolutely, yes.” Doctor Whooves responded, as he knows for himself that drinking growth potions aren’t always a good idea and ponies should be careful with whatever they take from his lab first, in other words, asking him with his permission.
 
Derpy Hooves and Mayor Mare have been listening very much what Doctor Whooves is telling them, that growth potions are among the dangerous ones anypony could use, still Mayor Mare started getting a bit worried herself about the growth potions.
 
“Wouldn’t it be okay if we did use at least just one growth potion?” Derpy Hooves asked Doctor Whooves, as she really wanted one for her own purposes being a very huge pony in Equestria.
 
“I already told you it’s too dangerous drinking those growth potions.” Doctor Whooves replied, looking unamused with Derpy Hooves asking a troublesome question.
 
Derpy Hooves, now looking sarcastic, laughed at Doctor Whooves’ response about not being permitted using growth potions for anything she wants. The same thing goes for Mayor Mare, as Doctor Whooves was afraid she would do the same thing.
 
“We will try the best we can avoiding those growth potions.” Mayor Mare and Derpy Hooves told Doctor Whooves, as they promised not to touch a single growth potion, even if he’s not around them or any other pony.
 
“Okay, now we’re all coming together on the same page!” Doctor Whooves said in relief, now fully trusting the mares with their promises as well.
 
Minutes later, Derpy Hooves and Mayor Mare have been helping on Doctor Whooves with his projects, such as one where he must finish his vegetable plants projects that he must show for the students at Friendship University.
 
“I don’t see how vegetables are appropriate for plants in this project you’ve been telling us just now.” Mayor Mare told Doctor Whooves, confused on why he would use vegetables in his plant project, thus making him the first pony she ever saw using vegetables in science project.
 
“Oh, trust me, mayor, just watch me.” Doctor Whooves replied, as he put some tomatoes and carrots into the plant, which left Mayor Mare and Derpy Hooves surprised at his work.
 
Derpy Hooves raised her hoof, as she had a suggestion for Doctor Whooves.
 
“Is there something you need, Derpy?” Doctor Whooves asked Derpy Hooves, as he knew she was going to say something important.
 
“Can I try helping out with you with the other plants?” Derpy Hooves asked Doctor Whooves, as she wants to be a great helper and assistant with Doctor Whooves in his projects. “Of course, you are quite a silly but messy helper, Derpy.” Doctor Whooves replied, allowing her to assist him in his plant projects.
 
In another plant-related project, Doctor Whooves used seeds for this one, as it requires peppers, both red and green in the plant. Derpy Hooves carried the medium red pepper over towards the plant, making it drop into the plant nicely.
 
“I knew I could trust you.” Doctor Whooves told Derpy Hooves, in which she easily agreed with him.
 
Derpy Hooves said into her head, “Whether I’m working with Doctor Whooves or working with Mayor Mare, I can always tell they are protected when I help them out in whatever they need me for.”
 
The three ponies have been staying up, all day and night that day, with Derpy Hooves and Mayor Mare helping out with Doctor Whooves with his science projects. It was now midnight, at around 12:30 AM, and they have continued helping Doctor Whooves with his projects despite the other ponies sleeping in Ponyville.
 
“My, we sure have been up each passing hour and we are still doing this stallion his projects.” Mayor Mare told Derpy, as she looked tired but still wasn’t gonna give up with helping him as being one of the two mares he could trust as his companion.
 
“Like they say, you don’t need sleep during the night because it just wastes time.” Derpy jokingly replied, as she, much like Mayor Mare, preferred helping the great genius, Doctor Whooves, instead of getting sleep.
 
Doctor Whooves was liking the fact that Mayor Mare and Derpy Hooves have been helping him with his projects so much that it has been helpful for him getting good feedback from the students Twilight’s school.
 
“I can’t get sleep now, I gotta study hard with my projects.” Doctor Whooves said with a determined, as he had no time to waste.
 
“At least for the time being, nopony’s around us, so that’s the good news, I can give you that as credit.” Mayor Mare told Doctor Whooves, as she was glad that no other ponies are around, sleeping in Ponyville while she, Derpy and Doctor Whooves kept on staying up late with his projects that he must finish.
 
“I believe we should get some muffins after this.” Derpy Hooves told the other two ponies, wishing for a treat during the night.
 
“This late at night?” Mayor Mare replied in shock over what Derpy just said. “You have to be closed with your own shop, right?”
 
Derpy looked a little nervous, but finally started giving in a response in an unusual confident voice, saying, “Eh… yes I have closed my shop because I told my fellow workers that I’d be helping Doctor Whooves. That’s why I left a note on the door after leaving my workshop.”
 
“It is late, so we will let do this alone.” Mayor Mare told Doctor Whooves, as she was tired and exhausted from all the work she’s been doing, walking out of his laboratory with Derpy following behind her.
 
“The mares may be gonna get some sleep, but I’m still staying up all night and all day with my projects.” Doctor Whooves said, as he refused to make a delay on his current science projects.
 
Doctor Whooves still continued his projects throughout midnight despite the other ponies, including Derpy and Mayor Mare, sleeping, hoping that he will someday be recognized as the stallion who does the best science ever.
 
The next morning, around 7:57, Doctor Whooves was still inside his laboratory working on his projects, when he heard a sudden knock at the door.
 
“Come on in!” Doctor Whooves said, allowing whoever it was at the door to enter his room.
 
“Good morning, doctor!” Derpy told Doctor Whooves as she was carrying muffins in her basket from her shop, hoping that Mayor Mare and Doctor Whooves would be having some, too.
 
Both mares are surprised as they saw Doctor Whooves finishing up some projects for the last seven hours and a half. “My, you sure are one busy stallion who sure does love science.” Mayor Mare told Doctor Whooves, congratulating him for having creativity and putting in all the hard work he’s been showing.
 
“Why, thanks.” Doctor Whooves replied, as he always accepted the nice feedbacks he receive from anypony. “I’ve been one good stallion who works hard with every science project he does.”
 
Mayor Mare was agreeing with Doctor Whooves saying that he is a very hard-working stallion with his science projects so much that it eventually makes him feel honored.
 
“Ah, look at the time.” Doctor Whooves told the mares as he turned his head around towards the clock, which just landed on 8:00, meaning that he must attend a meeting with Starlight Glimmer at the School of Friendship.
 
“Do you wanna take us with you?” Derpy asked Doctor Whooves, wondering whether or not the students will notice her as much as Doctor Whooves. “Hmm, I rather go on my alone.” Doctor Whooves responded as he didn’t really feel like he wanted either mare going with him for the meeting at the school.
 
“Plus, this meeting is gonna be two hours.” Doctor Whooves added, as he looked at his schedule on the paper, which means it would be taking very long.
 
Derpy and Mayor Mare gasped when Doctor Whooves said the meeting was two hours.
 
“But two hours can be a long time!” Derpy told Doctor Whooves, knowing that a meeting for two hours can still be stressed.
 
Doctor Whooves understood Derpy’s words, though he is still not mad about the meeting will be two hours at the school he will be seeing. “Sorry, but that’s what it says on the paper. There’s nothing I can do about it.”
 
“I wish I could be some help for you, my friend, but I guess that’s just the way it is.” Mayor Mare said, as she wished she could go with Doctor Whooves, but had no choice but to let him be.
 
“Oh, make sure you keep the promise that you both won’t touch the growth potions, okay?” Doctor Whooves warned the mares and, as he said before, growth ponies are too dangerous for ponies to be touching.
 
“Don’t worry, we won’t.” said both mares, and Doctor Whooves left his laboratory, leaving the mares in charge while he is attending the meeting.
 
One hour has passed, and the two mares are still inside the laboratory, looking bored on not doing anything interesting except sitting for the entire time.
 
“It isn’t fun just sitting in this doctor’s laboratory and doing nothing.” Derpy told Mayor Mare, as they haven’t been getting any chances doing other things that would be fun. “We really need some fun already.”
 
Mayor Mare and Derpy looked bored, knowing that there’s nothing they could do interesting. However, Derpy realized with a surprised expression that the promise couldn’t be kept forever. So, Derpy, deciding that she changed her mind about her promise for Doctor Whooves, and took the growth potion from the counter, giving Mayor Mare the potion.
 
“Didn’t he told you that you can’t…” Mayor Mare said before Derpy interrupted her, saying, “Look, please forgive me that I’m doing this, but please, I really wanna see what happens when this growth potion takes effect on somepony, and I was just thinking you’d be the best subject.”
 
Mayor Mare shrugged, but couldn’t say anything else. “Let’s do somewhere without anyone around us.” She said, as they left the laboratory and go far away as much as possible.
 
Somewhere behind the mountains near Ponyville, Derpy had her left wing out, revealing the growth potion so that Mayor mare can drink it.
 
“This is really not safe…” Mayor Mare told Derpy, as she afraid the growth potion can be really harmful just and Doctor Whooves told her and Derpy the other day, as it can be very dangerous for anyone drinking the growth potion.
 
Derpy understood the words Mayor Mare was telling her, but she still couldn’t help herself over the fact that breaking a promise will result in huge consequences as she wasn’t being helpful right now.
 
“Come on, you wanna be bigger, right?” Derpy asked Mayor Mare with a smile on her face, just couldn’t wait and see the mayor become a huge mayor.
 
“But if I drink this potion, I would be several stories tall, and there would be no room for me doing paperwork at the town hall.” Mayor Mare replied, as she said seconds ago that it is too dangerous to drink the potion.
 
“Oh, come on, it doesn’t matter whether you are big or small, there’s still for little things when being a giant!” Derpy said with excitement.
 
Mayor Mare decided it was worth a shot, and took the growth potion from Derpy, drinking the growth potion until nothing was left in it.
 
“So, how does it taste?” Derpy asked Mayor Mare, curious on what flavor the growth potion felt like when Mayor Mare was drinking it. “It tastes… like cherry.” Mayor Mare responded nervously, feeling the flavor was a bit too hype.
 
However, seconds later, Mayor Mare started growing really fast until her size would go past the trees away from her. Derpy reacted in surprise knowing that what she said was actually true.

After seeing Mayor Mare become a giant with the growth drink she was given, Derpy was surprised, although she was unaware that this will result in her getting in huge trouble, which Doctor Whooves would eventually find out about it once she tells him.
 
“Now I’m definitely one huge mayor!” Mayor Mare said in a slightly more deep voice, as her voice could eventually echo its way through Ponyville as she was feeling excited that she was the biggest mayor in Equestria.
 
“I bet the doctor’s gonna like this.” Derpy said with excitement, still not aware that he would not feel the same way as her, since she took his growth potion without permission.
 
Derpy began flying in the air, and then look for Doctor Whooves somewhere in Ponyville, leaving a giant Mayor Mare behind in the mountain, as she didn’t mind her searching for Doctor Whooves anyway.
 
“Now this is what I call being a very big mayor pony.” Mayor Mare said, feeling more happy over the fact that she was eventually the biggest pony around, knowing she could be a great help for the ponies who are now the size that reach her large hooves.
 
Mayor Mare started to imagine in herself that the ponies would be happy to see her as a giant, and that she could be like a heroine, fighting giant villains, monsters, etc.
 
“I think I should get moving and go see the ponies in Ponyville. I bet they’ll be alright with me at this size! As the mayor, it’d be worth having fun with the little ponies!” Mayor Mare said, as she began walking the mountain, destroying it, shaking the ground with loud hoofsteps each time they touched the ground.
 
In Ponyville, the Mane Six are seen walking around searching for Mayor Mare, who Derpy didn’t tell them about as she was busy looking for Doctor Whooves at the Friendship School.
 
“Hey, where’s the mayor?” Twilight Sparkle asked her friends, curious on where Mayor Mare was, as she didn’t see her in the past couple days.
 
“Yeah, I’ve been wondering where the hay she was.” Applejack replied, as she was feeling just the same way as the others. “Last time I’ve seen her was when she was giving a speech about Las Pegasus.”
 
“But she really doesn’t know anything about that if she hasn’t been visiting that place yet.” Fluttershy told her friends as she never remembered anything about the time Mayor Mare has been to the city of Las Pegasus. “Plus, I can’t tell how she knows that place, but I still must get a clue for that one.”
 
While the Mane Six have been talking about Mayor Mare never visiting Las Pegasus, the conversation was soon interrupted as they felt the ground shaking below them.
 
“Um, why do I feel like an earthquake is gonna happen?” Applejack asked, wondering why the ground is feeling the sounds like stomping.
 
“Definitely, I’m believing the same way as you all do.” Rarity replied as an answer, knowing that ground was shaking yet again, and this time, they became louder and louder they she and the others heard it.
 
“Look up!” Rainbow Dash pointed her hoof at the giant-sized mayor, who was walking through Ponyville, with citizens jumping out her way while she trampled on houses.
 
Eventually, Mayor Mare was standing between the houses, the town hall, where she usually gives speeches, and the ponies, who are now in complete shock over her huge size, which was something they have never seen before.
 
“Fillies and gentlecolts, I, the mayor, have some important news for you all: I have become a giant!” Mayor Mare excitedly told the entire ponies in the village, feeling so happy that she is getting a hold with this new power with the help from Derpy.
 
Ponies looked confused at each other, but a few others looked happy about the fact that having a giant mayor such as Mayor Mare isn’t such a bad idea after all.
 
“Can you believe this, Twilight?” Applejack asked Twilight Sparkle, as she was not liking the situation with Mayor Mare being a giant, worried that she could pose a threat despite being a heroine as much as they are themselves.
 
“Indeed, I am seeing this strange situation with the mayor right now.” Twilight Sparkle responded, as she could tell that there’s no telling what will happen next now that Mayor Mare is the biggest pony around. “However, I do find it funny that she could be a goddess at the size she’s at.”
 
Twilight’s friends glared at her over her comment about Mayor Mare’s size, which they didn’t agree with, not even in the slightest.
 
“I don’t wanna say this, but… just because Mayor Mare is a big pony doesn’t mean she’s a goddess.” Fluttershy told Twilight Sparkle, knowing for the fact the just because a pony who is not an alicorn finds a way to make themselves bigger with anything doesn’t mean they are a goddess, though it still increases their power so dramatically, nopony else can tell.
 
“She’s right, Twilight.” Rarity agreed with Fluttershy’s opinion, knowing the difference a pony who is a goddess against a pony who isn’t. “A pony can’t be a god or a goddess without wings or a horn. You must be at least be a queen a princess in order to become one.”
 
While Twilight’s friends all agreed with Fluttershy’s opinion, the gigantic-sized Mayor Mare defended Twilight’s opinion, replying, “Twilight does have a point, though, little ones. Just because I don’t have wings or a horn doesn’t mean I’m not a goddess. After all, I am the ONE and true mayor in Equestria who is far the biggest!”
 
“Mayor, you might wanna shrink down.” Rainbow told Mayor Mare, as she didn’t feel satisfied with the mayor being so huge. “And plus, how can you work at the town hall at the size that you are just too big to fit in?”
 
“I suppose creating a bigger town hall, or having everything in Equestria just very huge, therefore the mayor can work in a building matching her size!” Pinkie Pie suggested.
 
All except Applejack liked this suggestion, whereas Applejack preferred Mayor Mare doing work outside the town hall while remaining a giant, like sitting close by it and write papers for the princess everyday.
 
Mayor Mare eventually liked Pinkie Pie’s choice, which she seemed absolutely happy with. “If only I had something that make everything huge, I’d be working in a huge town hall!” She said, looking so happy and excited that she could just stay in Ponyville helping out the tiny ponies for a while.
 
“Where’s Derpy?” Rarity asked the mayor, as she was wondering where the silly pegasus is at.
 
“Um, she’s looking for doctor at Friendship School.” Mayor Mare told the Mane Six, pointing her hoof towards the direction where the Friendship School is.
 
Twilight and her friends took the mayor’s advice so that they can search for Derpy at the Friendship School as much as possible before time was fully wasted despite Derpy still finding Doctor Whooves at the same time so she can tell him about she has done, which he would be too upset to hear.
 
“Okay, I guess that’s left with me watching you ponies for a while.” Mayor Mare told the citizens, as she then sat down, resulting the ground shake briefly, hoping she can be very big help as the Mayor of Ponyville.
 
Back with Twilight Sparkle and her friends, they started running as fast as they could and make sure they’d find her in time so that they’ll have a chance to shrink Mayor Mare and revert back to normal.
 
“Stay with me, everypony, because we must search for Derpy inside the school as fast as we can and try and ask Doctor Whooves for the shrinking potion.” Twilight Sparkle reminded her friends, as they have no time to waste and find the two ponies as long as possible before Mayor Mare may eventually stomp off somewhere.
 
“Yeah, we gotta fix this big problem!” Applejack said in a quick voice, knowing that having the mayor as a giant was not something she would find a great idea.
 
As the Mane Six kept on going forward, Fluttershy, however, was already feeling exhausted from all the flying, as she preferred taking a break. “Oh, I’m so tired from flying…” Fluttershy said, as she couldn’t fly any longer, and wished she just let her friends go without her.
 
“Come on, Fluttershy, this is no time for a break!” Rainbow Dash responded, flying back towards her, watching her fly slower.
 
The other four ponies stopped themselves from running, as they saw Fluttershy looking tired and almost passing out. “Ya wastin’ time with slowing yourself down, sugarcube!” Applejack told Fluttershy, as it would not help them find Derpy in time.
 
“You two can stay put, the rest of us gotta go, now!” Pinkie Pie told the two pegasi ponies, as she and others continued heading for the School of Friendship.
 
“Hey, please say something, say something!” Rainbow Dash said with a worried face, fearing that Fluttershy was so exhausted from flying within 60 seconds, she would have fainted right away.
 
Fluttershy still didn’t answered Rainbow Dash’s response while the latter was keeping her safe in her hooves.
 
“No, not at a time like this…” Rainbow Dash said, looking like she was about to cry.
 
However, as Rainbow Dash was still holding onto Fluttershy with the former looking depressed, Rainbow Dash had no but choice except keep her, otherwise, they will never make it with the others. Just then, Fluttershy’s eyes opened up, meaning she is awake.
 
“Wh-what happened…?” Fluttershy asked, looking like she was having a bad dream or something while she was exhausted and not saying anything, which made Rainbow Dash look happy that she was safe and sound.
 
“You actually got tired from flying and almost passed out on me.” Rainbow Dash reminded Fluttershy, telling her that the case was she almost when she and others kept running, she witnessed her stop flying, and eventually almost didn’t move.
 
Fluttershy, understanding what Rainbow Dash meant, responded, “I’m just glad I have regained my strength and consciousness back thanks to you…”
 
“I know. Now let’s catch up with the rest.” Rainbow Dash replied back, as they resumed flying without any further problems along the way. “I’m sure they have already found Derpy and Doctor Whooves right now.”
 
Meanwhile, at the school, Twilight Sparkle and three other ponies are in the hallway, looking for both Derpy and Doctor Whooves so that they can shrink Mayor Mare afterwards when they find her again.
 
“Where could that silly pegasus be hiding inside this school?” Pinkie Pie wondered, knowing with her Pinkie Sensing abilities that Derpy is somewhere nearby.
 
“If she’s somewhere close, that means she’s either in a classroom or in the principal’s office.” Twilight Sparkle responded, as it was possible that Derpy Hooves could be in either location within the building hoping they can find her in time.
 
Unfortunately, while they kept looking for them, they heard a voice shouting, “Over here!”
 
When Twilight, Applejack, Rarity and Pinkie turned around, they discovered that it was Derpy and Doctor Whooves all along, and Twilight realized Derpy already found Doctor Whooves despite she and the others trying to look for the two themselves at a time.
 
“Oh, I’m so glad you both are safe!” Applejack said in relief like Derpy and Doctor Whooves would be in danger at this point. “We’ve been looking for you!”
 
“We just left the office about two minutes ago, and Starlight’s coming with us, too.” Doctor Whooves told the four ponies, as he heard what happened between Derpy and Mayor Mare, resulting in the latter becoming a giant, and decides that he should take Starlight Glimmer as extra assistance.
 
Starlight Glimmer shows herself up, helping Doctor and Derpy look for the shrinking potion at the doctor’s laboratory, whereas Twilight and the others, with the two pegasi ponies eventually joining them later on, search for Mayor Mare in Ponyville.
 
“Alright, I will help you with this huge problem that Derpy’s been talking about.” Starlight Glimmer told everypony, as they all walked out the school and then, they saw Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash catching up with them.
 
“Hey, glad you are here, Starlight.” Rainbow Dash told Starlight Glimmer, as she wasn’t expecting her coming along with the others.
 
All nine ponies began walking as a group together, looking for the gigantic-sized Mayor Mare in Ponyville, making sure she was still at that place and that Doctor Whooves could shrink her with his shrinking potion. However, by the time they reached Ponyville, they realized that Mayor Mare walked off somewhere before they could find her.
 
“It seems we’re too late.” Twilight Sparkle said in worry, looking at the damaged and destroyed houses Mayor Mare had stepped on.

The Mane Six, Starlight Glimmer, Derpy Hooves and Doctor Whooves have made a failed attempt looking for Mayor Mare as Twilight and her friends took too long looking for Derpy and Doctor at the Friendship School. Wanting answers on where Mayor Mare went, Twilight and her friends decide to talk with the citizens about which direction the mayor has taken.
 
“Is everypony alright?” Applejack asked the citizens, seeing some looking frightened when the giant-sized Mayor Mare walked her way somewhere not even Applejack could determine.
 
“Th-that way…” Lotus Blossom told Applejack and eight other ponies, pointing her hoof towards the direction, which they would find Mayor Mare at Canterlot, hoping they can find another way to shrink Mayor Mare.
 
“Come on, let’s hurry!” Starlight Glimmer said, as she started running, only for Rainbow Dash telling her to stop, knowing that they must split up so that things can work out right.
 
Starlight Glimmer turned around, looking at her friends because it is important that she listen on what they must do in order for the plan to succeed.
 
“Listen up, everypony!” Twilight Sparkle told her friends, as she had a very important announcement that will be heard loud and clear. “We all are splitting up because that’s the only best idea possible. If we wanna shrink Mayor Mare and put her back at her regular size, then somepony must go with Doctor Whooves and look for the shrinking potion.”
 
“Me and Derpy can stay with Doctor and have the potion ready in time.” Starlight said, as she, Derpy and Doctor headed towards Doctor Whooves’ laboratory to look for the shrinking potion.
 
Leaving things only for the Mane Six for now, they followed the direction towards Canterlot, and as they find Mayor Mare along the way, both Twilight and Rarity must avoid using magic, otherwise the plan could possibly be ruined and the six shall wait until Starlight, Derpy and Doctor Whooves arrive with the potion.
 
“I dunno what Mayor Mare’s doing at Canterlot, but we better find out, quickly!” Applejack warned the others, as she was afraid the large mayor might already have caused some minor damage before they can even reach her.
 
And with Applejack’s advice being given, they all ran quickly so that they weren’t very late looking for Mayor Mare for a third time straight. On the other hand, Mayor Mare was sitting outside near the castle with Princess Celestia and her guards, with Celestia having few paperworks that Mayor Mare must write for her.
 
“It is an honor that I’d be writing some paperworks for you.” Princess Celestia giggled at Mayor Mare, as she was feeling so trusted that a big mayor like Mayor Mare is such a good assistant regardless of her size when doing papers, something they share in common.
 
“You don’t see Princess Celestia writing papers down for a pony that large like the mayor.” The female pegasus guard jokingly told the male pegasus guard, as she was surprised seeing Mayor Mare smiling down at them widely.
 
“Yeah, you could say that again.” The male pegasus guard replied, laughing at that joke, which made Princess Celestia laugh along with him before she resumed writing the paper.
 
Twilight and her friends looked at the mayor sitting down near Celestia and the pegasi guards, who seemed happy and not upset about Mayor Mare as a giant pony. “Let’s go talk with her.” Fluttershy told her friends, believing that they have just found the right chance for a talk with Mayor Mare.
 
“It’s fine having me like this huge, yes?” Mayor Mare asked Princess Celestia, expecting an answer from the latter that being a huge mayor isn’t a problem at all.
 
“Actually, no, you seem fine the way you are, Mayor,” Princess Celestia replied while still writing papers for the giant-sized Mayor Mare. “Seeing you as the biggest mayor makes me believe you should have a bigger town hall.”
 
“Just exactly the way I’ve been thinking, too.” Mayor Mare said, as she is dreaming that she is a giant pony and working in a larger town hall in Ponyville.
 
Twilight and her friends approached closer towards the others, and they still weren’t afraid speaking with the mayor, still achieving for luck.
 
“Mayor Mare, I would like a word with you.” Twilight Sparkle told Mayor Mare, as she kept walking further away from her friends, only for the guards to stop her as they considered her and friends interrupting Princess Celestia writing papers down for the mayor.
 
“Sorry, but I’m afraid you and the others gotta turn around immediately.” The male pegasus guard warned Twilight Sparkle, suggesting that she takes a step back.
 
“What for?” Pinkie Pie asked in confusion, as she didn’t not believe she and the others have done anything wrong because they just made it about a minute now. “All we want is just a talk with the mayor for something.”
 
However, the female pegasus guard also intervened. “Whether you did anything wrong or not, you still shouldn’t be here right now.” She told the Mane Six, warning them that she and the other two guards will forcefully escort Twilight Sparkle and her friends they did not do it themselves.
 
“You better let us through or else!” Applejack demanded the guards, telling them not to get in her way.
 
“And we will not say this for a third time!” The unicorn guard warned the Mane Six, holding his spear in his hoof towards the Mane Six, as he would not allow the Mane Six getting any closer towards Mayor Mare and Princess Celestia, as the latter was doing papers. “Either leave, or we’re forced to escort you out. The mares are busy.”
 
The Mane Six walked away, looking both disappointed and upset among themselves that they did not accomplish what they hoped for. Back in Ponyville, they had no choice but go look for Starlight, Doctor Whooves and Derpy.
 
“Man, that was embarrassing!” Rainbow Dash said in anger, as she wasn’t happy with the three royal guards telling them to leave Canterlot after interrupting the princess from writing the papers for Mayor mare despite she and her friends not doing anything wrong.
 
“I don’t understand why the guards would kick us out when we did nothing wrong.” Rarity spoke with a gloomy expression on her face. “We just wanna talk with Mayor Mare and that was one simple thing.”
 
“But maybe they’ll might understand us when we bring Derpy, Starlight and Doctor Whooves along.” Fluttershy told her friends, giving them heads up next time they go back to the castle.
 
Now that Fluttershy has mentioned it, they all felt like it was the perfect opportunity that they search for the other three and make things right without being told to leave Canterlot for a second time.
 
“Oh, yeah, I forgot about them.” Applejack said, as she’s been wondering what the other three are doing right now at this point. “We must get the help from them, now.”
 
“Plan B is coming in!” Pinkie Pie shouted with excitement, as she was liking this idea, since they really had no ideas with them.” Nine ponies, all together as group, solve the case once and for all!”
 
“But we haven’t even found them yet.” Twilight Sparkle reminded Pinkie Pie, as they have not entered Doctor Whooves’ laboratory yet.
 
“At least we still have the chance that they are coming with us, darling.” Rarity told Twilight Sparkle as it wasn’t too late to look for Starlight, Derpy and Doctor anyway.
 
At Doctor Whooves’ laboratory, Doctor, Derpy and Starlight have been searching for the shrinking potion several minutes straight, but they are unsuccessful.
 
“Where’s that potion so that Mayor Mare can shrink?” Starlight Glimmer wondered, as she kept looking for it, especially under the table, and even the drawers. “I know it is somewhere in this room!”
 
“If we don’t hurry, everything will be a waste.” Doctor Whooves said, as they have wasted enough time as they have looking for the shrinking potion. “If it wasn’t for Derpy, this crazy story about a giant mayor wouldn’t be brought up at this moment, but no, we gotta solve this HUGE problem!”
 
Even though Starlight and Doctor have had difficult times finding the shrinking potion, Derpy, on the other hand, actually found it, which was in the cabinet. “Found it!” She said with happiness, showing the other two ponies what she has in her hooves.
 
“Great job, Derpy!” Doctor Whooves told Derpy, making him proud that she has found the shrinking potion at last.
 
“Where did you find that?” Starlight Glimmer asked Derpy, curious where the latter found it as she never looked for it.
 
“The cabinet.” Derpy simply answered.
 
Suddenly, a knock on the door was heard, and Doctor Whooves decides he will answer it. “Who is it?” He asked, as he was waiting for somepony at the door to give him a response. And when the door opened, it was the Mane Six.
 
“Doctor Whooves, thank goodness you three still safe!” Applejack said in relief, hugging him that he was alright the entire time.
 
“Yes, I feel the same for you and the others.” Doctor Whooves replied back, as he was just the same as Applejack and her friends are, knowing that they must accomplish what must be accomplished. “Now let’s get going!”
 
The Mane Six, Starlight, Doctor and Derpy all ran out of the laboratory and head back for Canterlot, hoping things will work out right this time.
 
Back at Canterlot, Princess Celestia has finished her last paper for Mayor Mare, and levitated all the papers to her.
 
“My, sure was a lotta writing for the princess.” The unicorn guard told the female pegasus guard, feeling like it was almost an hour since the princess was writing the papers to the mayor. “Seeing that makes you believe that 60 minutes have passed.”
 
“I couldn’t disagree on this.” The female pegasus guard chuckled in response.
 
Princess Celestia asked the guards as she walked towards, “Are you happy that I’m finally finished with the papers?”
 
“Um, yes, highness.” The male pegasus guard responded, flirting at her, making the other two guards look surprised at him. “I guess they say that you being a princess means you gotta do the hard work all the time. The same thing goes with your younger sister, too.”
 
“So very nice that I’d visit you, princess.” Mayor Mare told the Princess Celestia, praising the princess for being a big helper.
 
Mayor Mare eventually walked again, leaving Canterlot and head straight back towards Ponyville, unaware the Twilight and her friends are looking for her, as they still have business with her.
 
“Do you see her yet?” Doctor Whooves asked the group, as he still needed the chance to use the shrinking potion on Mayor Mare, otherwise things will mess up.
 
“No, not at the right time yet.” Rarity answered, as she still doesn’t see Mayor Mare anywhere in sight.
 
“I don’t see her over this place either.” Starlight replied second, as she couldn’t look for Mayor Mare around the place, and so could the others, leaving the group completely disappointed that they still haven’t found Mayor Mare.
 
“Blast it!” Rainbow Dash said in anger, as she looked not happy that what she and the others thought would be accomplished was unsuccessful for a second time. “We can’t find her.”
 
However, the ground shook again, making the group feel like it was Mayor Mare approaching.
 
“If those sounds are coming from the mayor, then we better get ready!” Doctor Whooves reminded the group, looking prepared for what he needs to be accomplished.
 
The group soon heard the hoofsteps becoming louder, and as they looked up, they saw Mayor Mare approaching her way towards Ponyville.
 
“Okay, she’s coming!” Applejack told the group as she and others must get the job completed just like they wanted. “Do you have the potion with you?” Applejack asked Doctor Hooves, wondering if he still has the potion with him in his hooves.
 
“I can’t say I’m lying.” Doctor Whooves told Applejack, showing her the potion he has with her. “And when Mayor Mare gets further, I’m gonna need Twilight Sparkle to take the potion with her as the mayor comes nearby.”
 
Waiting for a couple seconds for the mayor approach the village closer, Twilight Sparkle teleported herself, resulting in her appearing behind Mayor Mare so that the plan could possibly work.
 
“Hopefully she has what it takes.” Fluttershy told her friends, looking nervous about Twilight’s mission that she is doing for Doctor Whooves.
 
“Don’t worry, Fluttershy. Everything’s gonna be alright.” Pinkie Pie told Fluttershy, comforting her that the mission will not be a failure. “I doubt that Twilight’s got it all safe under her hooves.
 
Twilight Sparkle was staying still for a couple seconds, and then fired a magic blast at Mayor Mare, resulting in her stopping from walking, and standing still.
 
“Okay, I better get this thing right, or else.” Twilight Sparkle told herself, as it was the only thing she could, having no other being given at the moment. “Now, I’m gonna levitate this potion towards the mayor and make sure it works.”
 
As the shrinking potion came towards Mayor Mare, the mayor now saw it so close towards her, she was wondering where it is from.
 
“What is this potion I’m seeing?” Mayor Mare as she believed it was familiar, but takes the opposite effect that a growth potion does. Regardless, Mayor Mare still decides to drink the potion anyway, not knowing what will happen next.
 
As she took it all from the potion, Mayor Mare was finally shrinking, with the entire village witnessing this, watching her reverting back at the size she was before given the growth potion.
 
“Hey, just what happened all of a sudden?” Mayor Mare wondered, not feeling like she was a giant anymore following the shrinking potion she had took.
 
The Ponyville citizens rushed towards Mayor Mare, seeing if she was alright, before Twilight’s friends, Doctor, Derpy and Starlight rushed and check in on her, too.
 
“It worked!” Pinkie Pie shouted with excitement, as everything was all according to plan, just like how Doctor Whooves and Twilight predicted. “Now she’s finally just at the right size she is! You may now cheer.”
 
Despite Pinkie Pie’s words, the citizens aren’t cheering even though they are still happy Mayor Mare wasn’t a giant anymore.
 
“I’m glad you are safe now.” Doctor Whooves told Mayor Mare, as he realized she is not hurt while the shrinking potion took effect on her.
 
“Looks like you ponies have actually me go back at being a small pony like you all are.” Mayor Mare responded, as she was surprised that the group would try and revert her back at regular size. “Still, I wanna admit that being a giant is still fun, but I guess not everypony in this town feels that way.”
 
“Just as long as you are on the good side, we would never consider you posing a threat, mayor.” Rainbow Dash said, as she believes that anyone on the good side becomes a giant doesn’t usually pose a threat in Equestria, unlike the other way around.
 
Mayor Mare hugged each pony at a time, knowing how much they care about her and respecting her as the mayor of Ponyville since the beginning.
 
“Muffins, we still gotta discuss about what has happened today.” Doctor told Derpy, reminding her for what she has did that was wrong.
 
“Yes, Doctor, I already know what we must talk about. Derpy replied, as she is left with no choice except face the consequences for taking a potion from his laboratory without his permission first.
 
Twilight Sparkle teleported herself towards the area where her friends are, seeing the situation is one-hundred percent safe.
 
“At least we can go do some other things.” Rarity told the group, as she and the others, except Derpy and Doctor, head towards the Carousel Boutique and hang out for a while. Doctor and Derpy took the direction towards his laboratory, knowing that what they must talk about for Derpy’s actions.
 
Meanwhile, at the laboratory, Doctor Whooves is having a conversation with Derpy for her actions that she has caused, knowing it has been leading her into trouble.
 
“Do you understand that I told you the other day that drinking a growth potion is not safe?” Doctor Whooves asked Derpy, as he already warned her that it is far too dangerous to drink a potion, resulting in anypony getting bigger.
 
“Yes.” Derpy replied, as she realized breaking a promise is considered bad luck.
 
“But you took it anyway, using it like you would be safe when it actually puts somepony like Mayor Mare in danger.” Doctor Whooves told her, as taking something from his laboratory and passing it over to someone else gets Derpy in more trouble against the other.
 
Derpy looks guilty over what she has done, not knowing it could have gotten the entire Ponyville in complete danger after giving Mayor Mare the growth potion.
 
“I just don’t know what wrong.” Derpy said, feeling like she didn’t understood the thing Doctor Whooves told her the other day.
 
“Of course you don’t because you are not always being cooperative all the time.” Doctor Whooves reminded her, as she sometimes can get so carried away doing things on her own instead of doing it as a team.
 
“But that’s what I am anyway.” Derpy argued back, as her personality is what describes her best. “I’m not always the best pony at helping everything, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be great at them, even my fellow wing-pony friends know that. Please, I won’t ever take another growth potion from this laboratory again.”
 
While Doctor Whooves does agree with the part that she’s not always a good helper all the time towards other ponies, especially him included, he still accepted Derpy’s promise that she is not taking another potion from his laboratory ever again, even when he’s not around.
 
“With that said, I guess we are on even terms.” Doctor Whooves said, finally seeing himself and Derpy on the same page.
 
“Hey, we should go at my workshop and deliver more mails!” Derpy suggested, as she wanted to be at her job as mailmare today.
 
Doctor Whooves accepted this despite him being an earth pony, and before following her, he hid all his potion so that they don’t get taken out his laboratory like last time. After that, he followed her, hoping he can have a chance and meet with Derpy’s fellow mailmare ponies when he gets there.
