Original Description:
“Aww!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed aloud as she spotted a very pregnant Mrs. Cake standing in the middle of Sugarcube Corner. It’s been a while since Pinkie managed to see her around the café, so seeing her again felt like a momentous occasion. “Any day now until the little ones get here. Isn’t that right, Mrs. Cake?”
\
“That’s right, Pinkie,” Mrs. Cake replied with a struggling smile as she pressed her hands against her sore back. “It’s quite exciting for all of us. And the babies, too. They’ve even been kicking up a storm lately.”
\
“Ooh, really? May I…?” Pinkie asked with both curiosity and eagerness, already leaning in close and reaching her chubby hand towards Mrs. Cake’s pregnant belly.
\
“Oh, go right ahead. Just be very gentle,” the soon-to-be mother agreed, letting Pinkie carefully rest her hand on her swollen belly.
\
“But don’t expect them to move around much,” Mr. Cake suddenly spoke up as he walked up from behind. “They’re usually pretty restless. But whenever we try to show anyone else, it’s like they’re suddenly taking a break.”
\
“Oh!” Mrs. Cake’s eyes suddenly widened with worry. “Speaking of which, please tell me you hired someone who can help you out while I’m on maternity leave. I can’t leave you working alone all summer!”
\
“There is nothing to worry about, Mrs. Cake,” Pinkie stated confidently as she straightened up and saluted. “I will be volunteering my free time working here until you get back!”
\
Seeing the nervous look on his wife’s face, and knowing darn-well how much Pinkie loved sweets, that is to say too much, Mr. Cake decided to intervene. “Uh, we appreciate your generosity, Pinkie Pie. But that won’t be necessary.” He then turned back towards his wife. “I already found the perfect candidate for the job, and she’ll be starting tomorrow.”
\
Though Mrs. Cake sighed with relief, Pinkie didn’t take it as well. “Aww, okay. But I’ll be keeping a watchful eye on this ‘perfect candidate’ of yours,” she said as her eyes narrowed with spiteful intent.
\
“Maybe keep a watchful eye on her, too.” Mrs. Cake muttered towards her husband.
