Here’s a single shot of Shining in the Petitverse I’ll be doing Cadence soon
 
 
Shining Armor and Candance rule the Crystal Empire with their children their four children Flurry Heart, Amorous Shield, Silver Laurel, and Sweet Biscuit the two have ruled with love for their kingdom and for each other, a while back before Twilight took the throne alongside Celestia, Discord was already on thin ice with Shining for what happened with Tirek but hearing he so foolishly posed as the ancient evil ram Grogar and brought back not just Sombra but Chrysalis, Cozy Glow, and Tirek he was livid as he worried for his wife and his daughter. Seeing the shadow king holding his baby when they rushed to check on her he knew it would be the scenario that if he dared to hurt him then who’s the say he wouldn’t do that to Flurry so begrudgingly they had to submit themselves to him just so he wouldn’t hurt her.
 
After Twilight and her friends had destroyed Sombra once and for all, Cadence had many sleepless nights worrying if Chrysalis would find the Crystal Empire and since it was a kingdom who was ruled by love it would be an all you can eat buffet for a changeling, even Flurry had nightmares of the shadowy figure who made her parents bow to him. Shining was beyond livid with Discord of all the dumb and harmful things he’s done this had to be the worst and he wasn’t going to let him get away with it, after the final battle Shining and Cadence could finally get a chance to go back to what it was before but Shining didn’t forget what happened he demanded he be punished and Celestia did agree but Twilight did have a talk with Shining about his punishment and to him his powers were everything so they came to a fitting punishment his powers would be taken but not all of it.
 
When he can prove that he can be responsible and use his magic not so carelessly then he will given back a certain amount of it as a reward, Discord of course wasn’t happy about it but Fluttershy did give him a stern talking too and well yeah he didn’t have much of a choice cause the second option was prison time so he chose the former. To Shining it was a start but to him the proof was in the pudding and he wanted frequent updates on him. Cadence and Shining were slowly but surely getting back to normal and the rulers got frequent updates on Discord, it would take a while for them for accept an apology from him but they didn’t completely take it off the table. When Flurry turned around three Cadence announced she was pregnant again, Shining was overjoyed and so their second born and only son Amorous Shield soon after him their two daughters Silver Laurel and Sweet Biscuit entered the scene.
 
Shining and Cadence loved their children and raised them with such, it wasn’t too long when Twilight announced that her and Flash were dating of course big bro Shining wanted to make sure he was going to treat his sister right and told him that if he did anything to hurt her that he would drag him down to pits of Tartarus and make him kiss the dark horse himself. Everything seemed to be ok though he still had his eye on him soon Twilight fell pregnant with their first child Aegis Star, him and Cadence adored their nephew and Shining even cried at seeing him, not too long after their niece Midnight Paint was born but that’s when he saw some red flags begin to rise. How when either they come to visit or he, Cadence, and the kids came to visit, he noticed how detached he was from Midnight and Cadence even noticed to which she really didn’t appreciate when he brought it up with Twilight she just said that it was because he got tired after his training and he tends to get a bit grumpy when he doesn’t get much sleep but Shining didn’t buy it but the more times he would see it and bring it up with Twilight the more defensive she got.
 
They had a huge fight one night and left on really bad terms their normally close relationship was strained for a while, why couldn’t she see he was trying to protect her but then flashbacks to his wedding came crashing in, how when she confronted the false Cadence under the presumption that she was the real Cadence how he scolded her for doing that it was a twisted Deja vu for him, he now understood how Twilight had felt when it happened angry, sad just trying to get their sibling to see the truth….that was a mental slap in the face for Shining, looks like the horseshoe was on the other hoof now. Maybe he was being over protective of her, maybe he was looking in too deep into it, but there was no way she wanted to talk to him right now remembering the fight, this was just as bad as the one they had at the wedding rehearsal.
 
But he would soon find out his presumptions were right, one day a guard came in and said he had to some news about Flash and told him that he saw Flash with another mare and they were rather passionate, Shining felt his blood boil but asked him if he had some sort of proof of it and turns out many of the guards saw him, Cadence saw a look of pure rage on her husbands face and he ordered for him to be brought to him immediately. When he was brought in he saw his furious captain and just shrunk, Shining let loose a rage on him that would be remembered for years to come, he was taken off the guard and exiled from the empire sure it was in the heat of the moment and admittedly a bit overkill but he wasn’t going to let him get away with it.
 
This happened right before Twilight was supposed to be giving birth to their third child, how could such a disgusting stallion do that to a pregnant mare let alone his little sister, that just made it even worse Cadence kept in touch with Twilight and vice versa so that was how he was able to at least see how she was doing since he was worried sick about her he couldn’t even focus on his own duties his mind was an emotional fun house with twists and turns around every corner, he wanted to be there for her he really did but he didn’t know if she wanted him there. He confessed these feelings to Cadence who thankfully wasn’t there during the falling out but heard about it and she said she will talk to Twilight but she also said right now she needs you.
 
Shining finally mustered up the courage to see his baby sister, when he saw his niece and nephew they looked distraught but they ran to their uncle so happy to see him, he embraced them not wanting to let them go but when he saw Twilight she looked horrible her mane was matted her face had tear stains and her eyes were red and puffy, she looked like a total mess but when she saw him she rushed to him and hugged him tightly crying into his chest apologizing profusely through sobs, Shining didn’t say anything but just hugged her and he didn’t let her go. What did she do to deserve this, he wasn’t going to be the kind of bother who would taunt her saying “I told you so” over and over from what he saw she’s already suffered enough.
 
Luckily him and did Twilight made up soon Rockhoof came into the picture and he helped her through the pregnancy when her new daughter Serenity Shield was born, a few years later Twilight is happily married to Rockhoof and even some newer additions were added to the sparkle family but while he was out on patrol with the guards and his daughter Silver, something happened that made him fear his own mortality and cause a huge change, he was patrolling the surrounding area not knowing there was a frozen lake underneath the snow he was walking on, he heard cracking and his daughter who was near by heard it as well. Her heart stopped as she saw her father on a frozen lake but he told her not to panic though admittedly he was trying not to do the same but he fell through the ice Silver went to get the other guards, they managed to get him out and was taken to the hospital.
 
Silver was a complete wreck as well was her mother and her siblings, they left to go see if Twilight had arrived yet cause when she heard about what happened she rushed down to the empire and Silver offered to watch Shining, she nodded and left Shining felt an unbearable chill course through his body, he was afraid, he didn’t want to leave them yet he couldn’t leave them yet. When Silver heard her father taking to her and stated that he wasn’t dead, everyone was thrilled but when Shining was able to go home he really began to fear his own mortality and his mind started to go to the one what if question that chilled him to his very core…what if he didn’t make it?
 
He asked his youngest daughter this question and how would they react if he didn’t make it, Sweet spoke truthfully that they would all miss him terribly and other things…that stirred something in Shining, he didn’t want to leave his sister or his family he spent many tireless weeks until he happened to find something in the crystal archives, it was a spell that had the power to turn a pony into an alicorn he had heard of this spell but never thought he’d ever see it and when he talked to Cadence and the kids about it they knew it was a big decision whole they agreed Cadence thought it would be a good idea to talk it over with Osiris and Celestia.
 
He made the trip to Canterlot to talk to them about it Osiris was understandably a bit hesitant and wanted to make sure Shining knew what he was getting into but the determination about this was seen on his face but Osiris and Celestia both talked about it as they came to give their answer they agreed and cast the spell, Shinning felt a strong surge of magic course through him as a bright light surrounded him, when the light faded he did feel different and when he got a good look at himself he saw the normal blue coloration in his mane was more vibrant, even his mane was longer as well as his horn, he saw the same markings on his face and fetlocks like Osiris, Celestia, Twilight, and Cadence had but then he noticed the large feathered wings on his back. He was shocked soon his nieces and nephews saw their new uncle and were shocked but excited Shining Armor was the first stallion to ascend to the high rank of Alicorn.
