Development sketches for an upcoming commission. The character’s name is Doghouse Diamond and he’s your classic film noir, hard boiled type detective. So along with the character design I wanted to do studies sketches of possible wardrobe he might wear in the finished piece. Like many characters from this genre he carries a lead dispenser. In this case his routine piece is a Colt 1903 Hammerless.
