Meet Riverside Iris, the only daughter of Cattail and Torx McColt! Growing facial hair in her teen years, Iris was seen as a bit of an ugly duckling in her hometown. She took that as a challenge as a teen, ready to pummel any bullies who dared tease her. And she did get in quite a bit of trouble growing up, especially since she had no issue with using violence to shut up ponies who made fun of her. Her father, a bit more of a peace-maker than a fighter, never approved of his daughter’s methods, but Mama Torx was more than happy to encourage Iris to knock some heads if it meant the message was heard. Now that she’s an adult, and it’s not as practical to just beat up on other grown ponies, Riverside Iris struggles to communicate when angry. She prefers to put her negative emotions into her work, which there’s usually plenty of as a mechanic! After Cattail recommended she go and learn a bit about communication at the School of Friendship, Iris has started taking classes along with fixing anything Ponyville needs, whether it be on the pipes in the spa or particularly stubborn machinery at Sweet Apple Acres.
