“I guess talent doesn’t run in the family, Dash.”
So. I made this Rainbow Dash x Flash Sentry adopt a little bit ago (pegasus on the left), and I couldn’t bring myself to part with her, so she’s canon now. I think I’ll have her be a Flash x Sunburst NextGen. So, her cousin is Luster Dawn (daughter of Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer).
I don’t have a name for her yet. I’ve had a few ideas, but I’m having a hard time finalizing. Ontari, Vegas (like the city), Rome or Romé, and Raven are a few. Which of those do you like best? I’m also open to suggestions
- Anywayyy. Greywind (right) had her very own “high school” bully. More like a Junior Wonderbolts Academy bully, but you get the point. All of Rainbow Dash’s kids kind of just got a free pass into the Academy, regardless of how they performed on their entrance exams. Greywind is the worst flier of Dash’s kids, but she, like the rest of her siblings, got in anyway.
- Obviously everyone is aware there’s a bias there. Greywind can fly alright, but it’s definitely not her special talent, and flying was never something she was especially passionate about either. She still wants to make her mom proud, though, and it’s a bit hard for her to shape her own future when the Wonderbolts thing has been shoved down her throat since childhood. Her twin brother Thunderbird is an excellent flier, and seemed born for the Wonderbolt position like their mother was. Even her little sister Astra is a pretty good flier, and her half-sister Wind Sprint is on the Wonderbolts B Team (so is Thunderbird).
- I’ll call her Vegas for now. Vegas never shies from pointing out the hypocrisy that is Greywind’s… entire existence. She’s not even that great of a flier, and she certainly didn’t have to work for the role like everyone else did. If anything, Greywind took another more qualified pony’s spot simply because she was Rainbow Dash’s daughter.
- Windy is trying her best. And she never meant to hurt anyone. Vegas’s relentless bullying kind of comes out of nowhere, and it definitely hurts. Vegas is also somewhat physical with her bullying; she’ll shove Greywind’s shoulder with her wing (which is what she’s about to do here), or she’ll just bump into her and play it off like an accident.
- Vegas is a few years older than her. She would have been a senior while Greywind was a freshman or sophomore in the Academy, which functions as a high school of sorts. Being picked on is sucky enough, but being picked on by an upperclassman? From day 1 it was devastating for her.
- Greywind does not continue her work with the Wonderbolts after she graduates from the Academy. She has not seen or heard from Vegas since they were teens, but the humiliation she caused will always stick with her.
- Side note, in the academy everyone is usually referred to by their surname. That’s why Greywind is known as “Dash.”
