Grunting, panting, wheezing, and bellowing filled her bedroom as Rainbow Dash found herself in a rather unfortunate, though not-so-shocking, situation. It was supposed to be her first day back to work at Sports R’ Us since taking a few weeks off for the holidays, something she was particularly reluctant to do. And for good reason.

“C’mon, you can do it!” Rainbow groaned to herself as she feebly attempted to pull her shorts up over her bulging rear, barely able to even bring them past her knees. “If you can cram a week’s worth of pancakes into your stomach, you can cram your fat butt into these shorts!”

Before the holidays, it would’ve been quite the understatement to simply call her huge. But now, with the holidays far behind her, she was ENORMOUS!

With no responsibilities keeping her occupied, the past couple of weeks went by like a deliciously calorie-rich blur. She truly let herself go, growing more massive and more blob-like than ever before. Her hunger rose as her belly expanded. The former athlete was no longer that spry and energetic girl of yesteryear. That part of her seemed to have been long buried beneath hundreds upon hundreds of pounds of fatty flesh and immense obesity.

Then why was it that deep down, she still had that desire to keep pushing herself?

“C’mon, almost there!” She continued to mutter. “I can feel it.” Though she couldn’t see a thing past her ample breasts and bloated gut, she could still feel the tight clothing stretch over her fleshy thighs. With her breath held, she gave it one final tug…

She sighed heavily, grabbing onto the dresser to balance herself as a wave of thoughts rushed through her head. “Oh, no,” was the only thing she could manage to say.

But she didn’t let go of her grip. She almost didn’t want to. Not yet. Not until she gave it another…

“Alright. Forget this.”

“What do you mean you can’t come in today? You’ve already had three weeks off.” The assistant manager of the store, Sea Foam, was over the phone, speaking to Rainbow in calmly panicked manner. “Wait, let me guess. You gained a ton of weight during the holidays, and now you’re too big to actually go anywhere. Right?”  
\  
“Well,” Rainbow began to explain, trying to hide her heavy breathing as she rested her bare butt onto the bed. “Not a ton of weight, but…”  
\  
“Cause no offense, Rainbow, but you were already pretty huge like a month ago. I mean, you were like, what? Over 800 pounds?”  
\  
“Yeah… I can’t lie to you, dude,” she finally confessed. “It’s more like 900 now,”  
\  
“Oh, man. Rainbow…”  
\  
“But, c’mon!” She huffed back, hoping her former co-worker could at least hear her out. “What difference does a few… dozen pounds make? You could still have me sitting in the back like always. All I need now is a ride to work. Maybe in a… delivery truck?”  
\  
“Please tell me your uniform at least fits.”  
\  
“Yeah, about that…”  
\  
“Ugh. Rainbow, you know how hard it is to keep reordering uniforms for you? It’s even worse when they have to be custom-made!” Even without seeing him in person, his attempt at a calm demeanor was quickly being overshadowed by his panic-stricken voice.  
\  
“I’m sorry, alright! I should’ve asked for a bigger size sooner, but it was the holidays and I just kept putting it off…”  
\  
“No, no, this isn’t about the uniform! It’s…!” The young man paused for moment, letting the subtle sound of static fill the silence for a few seconds before calmly continuing. “Look, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to do this, but we just can’t afford to have you around the store if you’re just going to keep getting… fatter.”  
\  
Rainbow’s heart nearly sank upon hearing this. “Wait, you’re not gonna fire me, are you? I don’t wanna lose this job just cause of something I can’t help!”

“What? No, I’m not gonna fire you. Even though you just sit around and eat all the food in the break room, you’re still the best employee we have.”  
\  
“Wait, really?” Her large chest lower slightly as she gave a long sigh of relief. She only now realized how heavily she was starting to breath, as well as how much her voice was starting to crack.

“Yeah, you know everything there is to know about sports, working out, staying active. You’re like the only expert we have around here.”  
\  
Rainbow scoffed, almost laughing at the irony as she looked down at her mountainous figure.  
\  
“I was actually thinking we can offer you a different job instead.”  
\  
“Uh… sure?” Rainbow answered with a raised brow, curious to hear more. “What did you have in mind?”
