I know NOTHING

It probably is Mark of the Unicorn, I mean, after all, this is a pony site. It’s not like Motu was some type of trainwreck that even I, a complete non-fan of, would know was some type of fiasco…

In actually liked alot of his older movies…i was so excited for this. Just go through the Motu/She-Ra thread on derpi. I’m.sll happy and optimistic then that. I’ve never had a show that affected me like that before.

The first episode showed promise, it was a little awkward, kinda perversely violent in spots, then it went downhill. The ending really hurt. He-man dead? That’s fine. We know he won’t stay dead. Look at the He-Man/Thundercats teamup. No the the problem was Teela. Her character was absolutely destroyed. No longer is she the snarky yet tough warrior we’ve come to know through through all the past incarnations, she’s now a self-entitled whiny nothing. The following episodes found all sorts of new ways to disappoint and frustrate me,celebrities picked at random to do various voices, Evil Lyn’s motivation completely changed, now she just loves Skeletor and would do anything for him. Tri-klops heads a cult that turns people into techno zombies, is there a reason? On the second half I haven’t watched yet because I’m waiting until summer when I can sit down and do a commentary maybe.
The only thing handled sorta okay was Scare Glow. Hopefully his VA is brought back in the future for a good interpretation of He-man.
So many obscure characters made their animated debuts in here, and it’s just sad. Like that gives it a pass? We have this bleak poorly paced edgy Twitter wet dream but oh, look we put Pig Boy in the show!
This show was promoted as being a continuation, and it fails, the animation is nice and pretty sometimes but that alone doesn’t save a show.
It’s also one of those shows that you can’t complain about because critics love it so much and it has a female lead so if you have a problem with it it’s because your sexist.
Kevin Smith insinuated angry fans are only angry because they can’t accept change and that He-Man no longer has an iron cross design on his armor so we’re all Nazis now too.
I could go on even longer.
Mattel is fully behind this show too, pumping out a massive toy line, and tons of merch. Where was all this hype and attention for She-ra? We had to twist Mattel’s arm nearly clean off just to get some poorly distributed,Poorly made Dolls, and an incomplete dvd set.
Thankfully, the cgi He-Man’s only issue is it’s generic title. It’s a radical reboot, even more extreme than the recent She-ra. Character’s races are juggled, ages are altered, but it’s a unique and fun interpretation. The characters have depth, they’re fun. The villains are creative, and we’ve gotten the best new Skeletor out of it with Ben Diskin. Mark Hamil can’t compete. His performance is fine, but it dirsnt stand out. Ben Diskin’s performance demands attention. I sincerely hope too many people aren’t scared off by Revelation, the cgi series deserves a watch.

Making it so woke is a good start. Making the main character an unlikable cunt who was so self absorbed she sought out He Man in the afterlife so she could bitch at him about how bad it made her feel, when he sacrificed his life to save the universe. He really should have considered her feelings instead just of stopping Skeletor from enslaving or destroying all reality. Having He Man be absent from nearly the entire show that is named after him, is just the cherry on top.
If you just follow this kind of recipe it’s not that hard to fuck up any franchise, no matter how much nostalgia the fans have for it. Just look at disney Star Wars sequels, JJ and Kurtzman Trek, 2016 Ghostbusters, the list goes on.

How can somebody fuck up the coolest show of the 80s? Jesus Christ, these writers had no childhood at all? Humanity at least to respect the past?
Even the 2001 reboot didn’t fucked up this bad.

That He Man show where He Man died in the first episode, then got brought back to life in the last episode and killed again before he could do the “by the power of greyskull” thing.
Oh btw, spoilers.

Oh no, he's here?

Let’s see…
There’s Mark of the Unicorn, a music software and hardware supplier.
Motu Patlu, a Hindi 3d Youtube cartoon.
MOTU a smartphone app for paying parking fees.
Motu Stop, a gas station chain named after a family dog.
Motu, the Polynesian reef island.
The Motu people of Papua New Guinea.

But I’mma take a wild guess and say it’s Masters of the Universe.
