Original Description:
Cloudy was in her room when the knock on the door brought her attention away from her books. Not to mention the agony her wings were in. It had been three weeks of Wonderbolts Academy training, and her wings felt like someone had made her fly across the Celestial Seas and back. Twice.
Rainbow Dash didn’t seem to care too much. She said it was normal for your wings to feel stiff the first week or two. It would get better soon, she’d say. Although Cloud wanted to believe her, there was no chance of her surviving another day of training.
She trotted downstairs and opened the door. Standing there was Sona Shy, with a smug smile of her face.
“Hey girl! Guess who’s taking you out tonight?” She asked her. Cloud Spirit sighed. “You,” she said. “That’s right!” Sona exclaimed.
“Actually, I don’t feel like going out. My wings are killing me. All I need is some rest,” Cloud told her, wincing at the aches in her wings. Sona scoffed.
“Rest is killing you! Come on, this will be fun, promise!” She said, taking hold of the blue pegasus’ arm and pulling her out the door. “Aaa… why?? I don’t wannnt to..” Cloud Spirit protested, but Sona had already lifted her into the sky.
They flew above Cloudsdale as the sun set behind the mountains far away. The sky was turning into a soft pink and blue just at the tips of the peaks. Cloud Spirit had a feeling that this outing would be longer than an hour.
Sona lead her to a small building. Wind Wing’s Pub, the sign read. “Come on! they have the best cider!” Sona exclaimed, walking inside.
Cloud Spirit lingered outside for a small bit. Do I really want to do this? I mean, the Wonderbolts rule is no drinking during or before training and performances. It messes up our coordination… I could get in so much trouble. Mom would be so mad. But, I don’t even want to be a Wonderbolt. So maybe, Spitfire would kick me out…
Without another thought, she dashed in behind Sona.
Inside, lights flashed and music played. It smelled of smoke and beer. Cloud Spirit’s anxiety was at a three before. By the time they found two seats at the counter, it was at a ten. She looked at the options of cold drinks. The bar tender walked up to them, about to take their orders.
“You must be over 21 to come even six feet of my pub,” he told them. Oh no. I completely forgot, Cloud Spirit thought.
“Of course I’m 21, sir,” Sona lied. “I’m looking at her,” he said, pointing his feathery hoof in Cloud’s direction. “Um… I… er.” she said.
“She’s just small, leave her alone, you idiot.” she told him. He backed off, like she scared him a little. “Alright. What can I get you?” He asked.
“I’ll take a barrel of cider, please!” She said with a smile. He looked at Cloud Spirit for her order. “Uh, I’ll have water, thanks.” she said. Sona rolled her eyes. “She’ll have a barrel, too.” She corrected. He gave Cloud one last glare then turned around and started making their drinks.
“Come on, don’t you want to to get drunk tonight?” Sona asked. “Um no, not really.” Cloud Spirit said. “Well, too bad.” She told her. Within a few minutes, the bar tender handing them their drinks. They were in mini barrel shaped cups, which Cloud Spirit thought was funny. The foam of the cider overflowed, and dripped down the cups.
“Drink it slow. These have a kick to them,” Sona said, sipping hers. “So, it’s just cider?” She asked. “With alcohol of course,” Sona said.
Before Cloud tired it, she glanced at Sona, who started gulping it down, letting some drip from her mouth. “Sona! You said to go slow!” Cloud said. “For you,” sona said, finishing it. “I’ve been here a bunch of times. Each time they never suspected i was only 17, hah!” She said.
“Um… good for you?” Cloud told her, she didn’t know how to take that. “You’re turn!” Sona said, looking at her mug. Cloud Spirit sighed.
Here goes nothing…
She took three sips and the sweet, yet bitter aftertaste piece her tastebuds. “Yuck! This tastes like shit!” She said. “I know right! It’s so fucking good! Bartender! A refill over here, please!” She called over the grey pegasus.

After three hours of listening to horrible music, and drinking cider, Cloud Spirit thought it would be good to go home. Sona Shy was a little more tipsy than her, and she leaned on Cloud as they flew home.
“that was the fucking best thing ever…” Sona said. “I can’t wait to do it again.”
“Yeah, I don’t think I’m going back there. Ever.” Cloudy told her.
She dropped her off at Ms. Shy’s cottage. Hopefully she didn’t hear their hoof steps on the creaky floor. “Thanks for for taking me out, Sona. It wasn’t that bad…” Cloud Spirit told her.
“Yeah! Totally. Well, bye C.” she said, as Cloud Spirit took off into the sky, back to her house.
Well. That happened. I actually don’t remember much of it. I think I’m still drunk…
When she arrived at her house. The lights were turned off, and everyone seemed to be asleep. Good. All I have to do is get upstairs.
Before she could take a step, the lights instantly turned on, and Rainbow Dash and Soarin’ stood in front of her, looking very upset. “Where have you been? It’s eleven! You’re supposed to be in bed by now!” Rainbow Dash bellowed. “I..”
Before Cloud Spirit could answer, her stomach trembled and she leaned over and threw up on the floor. Her parent’s expressions were completely unreadable. “Are you drunk?” Soarin’ asked. Cloud Spirit nodded. “I think so…” she mumbled.
“What!? Do you know the rules of the Wonderbolts?! Why did you think this was okay?! And how the fuck did they let you in?!” Rainbow Dash yelled.
“I was with Sona Shy… but it was my idea.” Cloud Spirit said. Don’t throw your best friend under the bus, Cloud, She thought.
“Of course! She’s always getting into trouble, and now, she brought you into it.” Rainbow Dash scoffed. “Didn’t you hear me? I said it was me!” Cloud Spirit told her.
Rainbow Dash stared at her.
“I told her we should get drunk. I wanted to have some fun, okay.” Cloud Spirit said. “You’re already having fun at the Wonderbolts Academy!” Rainbow replied.
Cloud Spirit frowned. “No. I’m not. And the fact that you don’t care is even worse than getting drunk!” She yelled, then ran to the bathroom to clean her puke off her chest.

“I can’t believe her.” Rainbow said to Soarin’. “I mean, getting drunk? On a Sunday? What’s gotten into her, Soar?” She said, wiping up her daughter’s throw-up.
“I think she’s just being a teenager. It happens, and there’s nothing we can do about it.” He said to her. “But I have to keep her safe! I have to show her right and wrong. I did it with Scootaloo, and I can do it with my own daughter.” She told him.
“But look where Scootaloo is now. She’s on Mt. Aris with her family. She’s not a Wonderbolt, Dash. She’s her own pony.” He said. Rainbow Dash sighed. The white pegasus place his wing over her back. “I know you want Cloud Spirit to follow your hoof steps. And that’s great, but you have to realize what she wants for herself, okay?” he said, then gave her a kiss on her cheek.
He’s…
he’s right. But I have to give her another try at this. She’s going to be awesome, I just need to show her. Maybe tomorrow, I can show her how cool she is. That’s what I’ll do.
I just need to to sober up first, heh.
“Right. You’re right, Soar. I love you,” she kissed him back. “Love you too, Dashie. We’ll work through this. Just give her some time,”
He trotted up the stairs back to the room. Dash sat on the floor, finishing cleaning.
You’re a good mom. You’re a good mom, she thought, as a tear fell from her eyes.
If you’re a good mom, then you should tell her, a small voice in her head said back. Tell her what? Rainbow answered.
Tell her about Zephyr. She has a right to know who her father is. It said back. This is nothing to do with him. I will never let her become— know about him.
Very well. But you’ll regret it, Rainbow Dash realized she was the one thinking to herself.
You’ll regret it.
