In the Sirens Remorse, Adagio suffers from bottled up emotional trauma from losing her family, having been forced to run away from monsters of all kinds in other Everfree Forest-like zones with no chance to mourn her family properly. Deep down she’s still just a hatchling who cannot accept that she was given the life she has instead of going with the pod who died on that fateful day. So she uses vengeance to fuel the meaning to her life they gave her, and seeks to bring Equestria to its knees before her as payment. Meanwhile, Sunset Shimmer has an inferiority complex as she tried so many times to prove she was a different Sunset than she use to be to the whole school. Failure and the nightmare curse she was given grew the seeds of fear and trepidation that was only buffered by Pinkie Pie’s ability to cheer anyone up and the combined efforts of Flash and Rose Luck. She fears living up to an idea that she is destined for failure no matter what she does, constantly hearing Princess Celestia’s warning before she went off the edge back in Equestria, prior to her self exile. I plan on having the two interact on quite the number of occasions in Book 2.
