Original Description:
“You sure you don’t wanna pick up a few burgers, Fluttershy?”
“Uh, no thank you. They don’t seem to have any vegetarian options.” Fluttershy looked back as Rainbow Dash took another bite of her chicken sandwich. “Besides, I’m pretty happy with a simple salad. Are you sure you wouldn’t want one on the side?”
Rainbow quickly chewed and swallowed before answering back. “Nah, maybe next time. This burger already has enough lettuce and tomatoes for me. And I think some kind of dressing.” She takes another bite of her double-stacked cheeseburger just to make sure. “Or maybe that’s spicy mayo.”
They made their way out of the food court and continued on with some window shopping. The mall was always relatively idle around noontime, more so during the weekdays. With less people to bump into, this made for a bit of an easier shopping experience.
Though as expected, Rainbow’s gargantuan size still drew quite a number of stares. Onlookers were either shocked to see someone let themselves get that massively obese, or surprised to see someone that size managing to waddle at a reasonable pace.
Whatever the reason being, Rainbow had long gotten used to it, opting to instead focus on just minding her own business and stuffing herself. “Thanks again for convincing me to come, by the way. That new burger place is soooo good,” she muttered with her mouth full. “Oh, and I needed new threads, anyway.”
“Well, I should thank you for coming with me,” Fluttershy smiled back as she began to explain herself, “I know it was a little out of the blue, but with my classes canceled for today, I figured that now is as good of a time as any to get some shopping done. I just needed someone to go with because… well… I don’t like going alone.” She smiled nervously, feeling rather embarrassed.
“Hey, don’t worry about it. Now instead of staying inside and eating, it’s nice to actually get out and… you know… keep eating,” Rainbow snickered to herself.
“What’s funny is that I almost asked Sunset to come along before I remembered she physically can’t,” Fluttershy giggled. “Oh, gosh. I feel so bad for laughing.”
Rainbow chuckled even harder, her flabby neck jiggling along. “Well, let’s hope I don’t end up like her,” she said as they tried to keep their laughter between themselves.
After a moment, as the laughs died down a bit, Fluttershy continued. “I did ask Pinkie Pie, though. She just said she might hang out next time.”
“Sounds good to me,” Rainbow shrugged. “At least it’ll be quiet for today.”
“Yeah, I suppose,” Fluttershy sighed, wondering when the last time they did something fun with Pinkie was.
Off the top of her head, she thought of the recent trips to the music festival and the cruise, but not too much else. She’d still see the pudgy girl whenever she had the time, of course. As well as the occasional back-and-forth texts. But even then, despite seeming as cheerful as ever, Pinkie just didn’t seem to have her usual bubbly energy.
Or… maybe she’s just overthinking it.
“Hey,” Rainbow suddenly spoke up. “Let’s check out the record shop.”
“Sure. But wait, you have a record player?”
“Nah, but who cares? They still look cool!”
