Today, 20 years ago, we remember the day one of if not the biggest disasters to ever happen to the USA occured, the September 11 terrorist attacks led by Osama bin Laden, killing nearly 3000 people and injuring over 25000 more. And this attack had a big effect in America on several subjects like making people more sceptical about the islamic religion and often calling it a terrorist religion (which is not true at all. See this previous picture I made 2 years ago for more info. While the conflict between Islam and America has been around for decades before, the 9/11 attacks worsen the belief. Even today, despite more representation of muslims in several media like Zahra from Glitch Techs, Parvana from the Loud House and Kamala Khan, our current Ms. Marvel, this belief and mind set still exists to this day and like I said before, it probably will not be resolved for either decades or centuries. The attacks also did effect media in several ways like the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehod episode “Mass Transit Trouble” was banned from reruns similar to One Flu Over the Loud House and Kwarentined Krab banned recently because of COVID-19, a show called Constant Payne never got picked up after the pilot because it came out at the wrong time, and Lilo and Stitch had a scene where Stitch and the gang ride a plane, completely reworked to have them fly a ship instead. While COVID-19 may have a higher death count in America and in other parts of the world daily, 9/11 is something that should not be forgotten.
