The Journey Beyond Equestria is the behind the feature which gets into more of the technical details of the film. I can’t really summarize what this one talks about without basically repeating most of this stuff verbatim. However, you see a lot of the animatics, a lot of storyboards, background designs, character designs, how to pitch a scene, and the editorial process.

The main problem I have with The Journey Beyond Equestria and Making Magic with The Mane 6 and their New Friends is that they all feel like they’re a part of a much longer and larger documentary on the film, but only had these two segments complete before the home video release had to go to print.

What we have isn’t bad, but it really does feel like there was supposed to be more with this.
