Description
This is my take on the new G5 character Zipp Storm (she’s my favorite out of all the new ponies)! I stayed as true as possible to her design while keeping the G4 art style in mind. I am really proud of how her mane came out, and how I managed to come up with a second variation of the pink color to fill it out some more.
In her 3D model, the blue streak in her hair is allocated to one side only, but for my version of her G4 design I believe she would have it on both sides of her mane. Much like how Spitfire and Lightning Dust have visible color differences in their mane no matter which way they face.

That’s understandable. A lot of people have grown attached to the old flash animation of the g4 show. I’ve always been a fan of 3D art and animation so I myself and looking forward to what G5 has to offer.
The show is going to be 3d as well from my understanding.
Now, to be absolutely fair, I am not going to fully judge the animation quality till I see it. Though perhaps hard to remember now with the waves of flash nostalgia I think it has been somewhat forgotten that flash itself was hated in a similar fashion (at least in TV animation) and FiM was initially put down in part for it. So, G5 may still come through alright even if I am more on the skeptical end.
yeah the 3D stuff does look more stiff than the 2D art. Perhaps after the movie airs they will make the show into a 2D project? After all the MLP Movie (2017) was very stylistically different from the actual show.
More of a 2d person myself. Though I wouldn’t call the 3d bad. It often lacks the distinctiveness and personality of 2d. Though I think they are trying to be a bit more stylized with this generation and we will see how the final product of G5 looks before I truly can pass judgement.

I like both her 2D and 3D design! I personally enjoy the 3D art style that they’re gonna be using for the new movie.
