This is a fanart based on the upcoming MLP movie. I had some problems with the color balance for princess Skystar. At first I wanted to include the logo of the movie. Then I realised it didn’t fit in properly, so I’ve written the title of the movie in Equestria font, but it didn’t fit in either. Finally, I gave up and I let this fanart the way it is. I’m personally glad with the results of Tempest Shadow and king Storm. For the second picture (one of Storm’s soldiers) I had in mind the first scene of The Force Awakens (one of my favourite films in the last years) and I wanted to capture the feeling that Storm’s soldiers are dangerous.
 
While I was drawing this, I was listening to some different music for each character. Kingdom Hearts, Undertale, NemesisTheory, ISMBOF (probably my favourite brony musician)… a bit of everything. The intention was to look for different feelings depending on the music I was listening. Maybe that’s why there’s a contrast between the main characters and the villains from this movie.
 
I think the film will be good. The later seasons were pretty disappointing (although I’m aware I’m on the minority on this), so, according to the last trailer, the movie will be a change of attitude and perspective. I’ve heard that the film won’t be the final conclusion to the show or something like that, which is good. Not only a standalone film is necessary, but it’s also a chance for the movie to do its own thing, to be creative, to expand the universe of My Little Pony without taking away the charm of the six main characters. If I watch it with this idea in mind, I’ll enjoy watching it. :)
