Pixie Stix is a professional candy maker by trade, known for his outgoing personality and upbeat attitude. His most known desire is to bring a laugh to anypony he meets, and has a lot of bad jokes on standby to help. He is also an ammeter tickler and a practicing member of a Gigglemancy Cult, known as the Laughing Herd.

Unlike a lot of their counterparts (known for being either exclusively secretive, or predatory in their recruitment of new disciples…or ensnaring victims), the Laughing Herd is comprised of voluntary members, more akin to a secret social/religious gathering. They would like to be more open about their activities and beliefs, but since they employ Gigglemancy (which is still outlawed by Crown Edict) they must remain hidden from the public eye.

The Laughing Herd’s main draw is ponies who feel a particular affinity towards the Element of Laughter (not Pinkie Pie or any pony who embodies it, the element itself). Thus their gatherings are about using tickles to reach a higher level of spiritual affinity with it, with the Gigglemancers leading formal ritual crowd-tickling as a kind of mass.
Since this forms the cornerstone of Pixie Stix’s beliefs, he loves to tickle ponies, and especially loves sharing the joy that can come from tickles with those close to him~

When he meets somepony he likes, the first thing he does is tie them down and tickle them silly for a time. A number of hours, depending on the pony’s stamina. It’s how he begins all his friendships, so they know what they can expect if they intend to spend time around him. Calling yourself a friend of Pixie Stix is you giving consent to regular tickles at his hooves~

But while he is, shall we say “playfully sadistic” while tickling his friends, he’s never mean-spirited or cruel about it. His unusual method of forming friendships derives from his love for tickling, and the spiritual effect it has on him…feelings he wishes to share with those in his life.

If you intend to have a close relationship with him, he will tickle you. A lot. And he wants to make it clear where you stand on that regard right off the bat.
