All in all, this episode was a good way to catch up with past characters with a good moral about finding purpose in a changing society… but my goodness, Rockhoof just couldn’t catch a break! So many employers kicking him out for making a single mistake in a job he’s never had before! If that happened to me, I’d NEVER find work! I guess the real moral of the story is “Don’t send a Friendship Princess to do a Cutie Mark Crusader’s job”.
The beginning bit with the school and the fire was the weirdest one to me; Twilight claims she tried to inform Rockhoof of the situation despite making very little effort to do so, and everyone blames Rockhoof for seeing fire and reacting to it. Like… who WOULDN’T see a fire THAT large in a building and think it’s an emergency? This comic is basically my response to both of those things: with Twilight more actively and successfully correcting Rockhoof, and with the fire ACTUALLY being an emergency, unbeknownst to Twilight. They’ll be fine; Spike and Smolder are fireproof, and Twilight always makes sure to get dragonfire insurance for all of her possessions ever since Spike sneezed at a bad time a couple times in the past.
Hope you all inspire grand tales yet untold, and NEVER give up on your future! Looking forward to the next episode!
