I might add to this tomorrow but here. Look. Beefy boi.
 
This is Elm Driftwood Briar and his girlfriend Cherry Chelan. The first design is younger Elm and the second is him once he’s well into fatherhood. They had one daughter together, Mahogany Thicket, who’s not been designed yet. Captain Driftwood Briar is an iconic d̶i̶l̶f̶ father, many would agree. Cherry is very proudly watching over her partner and child from the clouds above.
 
What? Did I forget to say she’s dead? LOL
 
Nobody’s safe from angst, come on now.
 
She died during childbirth. Elm only speaks fondly of Cherry and Mahogany adores hearing all the stories her father has of her mother. Cherry was the only pony Elm’s ever had feelings for. He’s demiromantic, which means he’ll only have romantic feelings for someone if he and the other party had a strong emotional bond, if I’ve got the term right. He’s had many friends during his time, but nobody ever made him feel the way Cherry did. They met as teens. Elm has never disclosed how they met as he wishes for that memory to be only between him and his sweetheart, but it’s safe to say they were smitten however they came across each other. There was never any doubt they loved each other.
 
The death of his girlfriend devastated the, at the time, simple fisherman. She was a mare beloved by many, but her life didn’t go to waste. She blessed her family and friends with a beautiful little filly, and they couldn’t be more grateful.
 
 
Also side note, Elm’s beard looks weird because of how he’s almost always got the winds of the ocean in his face, which eventually shaped his beard to be like that. Right now he is best boy.
 
For context too, Elm Driftwood Briar is the son of Treehugger and Mudbriar. He’s the oldest of three half siblings, the second oldest is his brother Lotus Leaf, whose other mother is Lightning Dust, and together they have their little sister Snowbell, daughter of Braeburn.
 
Cherry Chelan, with a name subject to change, is the only daughter of Cherry Jubilee and Sheriff Silverstar. I’m more than open to name suggestions for her if anyone has any.
