Next Gen: StarlightGlimmer
Starlight Glimmer is much more comfortable in her new role and around the friends she has made though she still apprentices under Twilight when it comes to friendship lessons sometimes. She still gets nervous meeting new ponies and whenever Twilight holds or attends summits, delegations, or ambassadors from other nations and species, as her former past still comes up from time to time, especially with those who reside around or very near Equestria. Twilight is quick to firmly but politely put down any attempts at those conversations whenever she hears them.

The lighter patches on her coat actually aren’t a coat pattern but places where she was severely burnt from her magic. These came from when she was experimenting in creating new spells (especially when making the spell to remove and essentially store cutie marks) and the early attempts didn’t turn out so well. If these burns had come from a natural source like fire or been a simple and minor magic mishap, they could have eventually healed but through countless attempts and several new spells she created, her backfires left her permanently burned, so her fur is very fine in those places.

She hates to see them but they serve as a reminder for how far she fell and the hard climb she’s had to make in order to be where she is today, so she almost begrudgingly wears them as a badge of honor. She thanks her stars that Twilight continually reached out her hoof in friendship and then took Starlight into her home to become reacquainted with what an actual friendship felt like. And she serves as a natural balance for Twilight when the princess sometimes loses sight of her values or the larger picture.
