…sounds like you need some SINGLE LAYER DRAWINGS.
Basically yes. Every object, and most of the mares’ body parts.
I’m now thinking of picking up flash and animating the whole thing. Someone save me from this line of thought.
100 layers? What, one layer per every part of the picture?
That too, I had about a hundred layers by the end.
@Napsack
What can I say, I got inspired.
also known as “you need a better PC for LORGER images”
That’s fair. That detail actually makes it more impressive that you put this much detail in there in the first place, honestly.
Danke schön!
You’re right on the ship being bare, but I kinda put myself into a corner when choosing the image dimensions.
The paper grain and pencil size approximately correspond to a 9 by 9 cm piece of paper, a palm of a hand. Good for a quick drawthread sketch, but makes it hard to cleanly fit lots of details.
On the other hand, if I chose a large scale I’d have to continue adding details to the ship forever, so it all worked out.
There’s some great detail in this. The ship is a little bare bones when you look too closely, but the ocean is lovely to look at and all the little ponies going about their business in the background is very fun.
