There was no doubt why Raspberry Caramel Macchiato had taken the day to visit Canterlot. She had been planning it all week, and running over her schedule for going into the city at every free moment. Macchi was determined to meet and befriend one of the most “it girls” of Canterlot: Hot Spot.
 
She had spent most of her morning wandering around places she knew Hot Spot regularly blogged about or mentioned, scouring cafes, fancy restaurants, and high-end fashion streets in an attempt to spot the famed blogger. It was well into the afternoon by the time Macchi took a break, sitting on a bench not too far from the castle. She took the time to make a mental checklist, wondering why she hadn’t made an actual checklist to carry with her of places she should look for the mare.
 
Raspberry rested longer than she planned to, taking advantage of such nice, sunny weather. She watched ponies pass her, going about their own days, but a voice caught her attention and made her head snap to the side.
 
“No, that’s what I’m saying! I was totally beachless for over a month! No one has suffered like I have suffered.”
 
It was as if Macchi’s prayers had been answered. Walking down the street, with a gaggle of mares behind her focused on her every word, was Hot Spot. She flicked her hair over one shoulder, giving a carefree giggle as the others gave her every bit of attention they had.
 
Raspberry shot up from the bench she had been resting on, starting to tip tap around in a mix of nervousness and excitement, her hooves clipping softly on the stone under her. Now was her chance! Her whole plan flew out the window, leaving her completely empty-minded.
 
‘Play it cool or tell her how much you love her work? Which one??’ She asked herself, deciding to instead hide behind a bush as the group got closer.
 
As they passed her, Macchi could hear Hot Spot speak up again, obviously being the star of any conversation between the mares.
 
“Ponies who think their problems are so huge make me crazy. Like this time I sort of spilled my coffee on this mare. It was the most traumatizing moment of my life and she tried to make it about her leg getting burned. I just don’t get it.”
 
The sounds of immediate agreement were met with her story and because she was listening so intently, Raspberry Caramel Macchiato almost joined in agreeing out loud from her hiding spot. Fortunately, she caught herself in time and instead slowly crept from bush to bush, allowing herself to get ahead of the group. She stood up and started trotting towards them, as if she would be running into them by chance.
 
By the time she reached them, Macchi had replanned what she was going to say at least five times. None of the group seemed to notice right away, even as she stopped in front of them to greet their leader.
 
“Hot Spot! Wow, it’s so crazy running into you here! My name is Raspberry Caramel Macchiato. I love your work!” Macchi grinned, looking like a filly who had met their idol.
 
The pink-haired pegasus glanced away from her friends and looked Raspberry up and down before giving a sweet smile. “Aw, thanks! That’s so sweet of you.” And without missing a beat, she started walking past the mare and continued her conversation. “So anyway, like I was saying…”
 
The group passed the mare, leaving her standing in the middle of the road as she listened to their chattering. A smile still remained on her face and she walked away acting as though she had won the jackpot.
 
“She noticed me! And she said I was sweet!” Macchi squealed softly, holding her head up high as if she were now a member of Hot Spot’s group. “A couple more times of running into her and she’s bound to ask me to be her friend, I know it!”
