Dramatic Cinder
I used to keep an eye on a survival game called Fade to Silence. But I really couldn’t take the wintry apocalypse theme seriously when the character starts to freeze at 0°C (32°F).
Where I live, our winters tend to be between -25 to -30°C (-13 to -22°F). When we hit 0°, you can still find people standing outside in their t-shirts. It’s the temperature when you choose between a thick coat, or a thick sweater. (I usually go for the sweater under a summer coat.)
I got the feeling that the characters in this game aren’t accustomed to winter, which makes no sense if you listen to the game itself, as they make it sounds like the winter has been lasting for at least a decade.
And why is no one wearing a hood or simple hat? Those aren’t hard to make. And why is no one ice-fishing? If there are wolves, deer and crows, then surely there must still be fish too?
And honestly: The game could have gone for a more surreal feel in general…
