You agree to visit the Undercity, and offer Florette to help loading her cart.
Florette: “Would you? In that case, I certainly won’t turn down a helping hoof. Thank you!”
For the next few minutes, you all work together to diligently fill the cart with various heavy crates and sacks, and tie the cargo down under a waterproof cover. Once all set, Apple Basket volunteers to pull the cart.
You then follow Florette to a nearby metal gate labeled “Old Waterworks”. The door creaks loudly as it opens, and closes with a rattle that echoes through the tunnel on the other side.
It takes a moment for your eyes to adjust to the darkness, but soon enough, you grow able to see the dry stone waterways, dimly lit by small yellow ceiling lights. Then, lead by the cleric, you move forward, and begin to make your way into a maze of long winding corridors, descending further and further underground.
Florette: “Finding the entrance is the tricky part, what with all the loops and dead ends you can run into here. Heading back to the surface, though, that’s as simple as climbing any ramp that goes upward. So if you ever get lost in here, just try going up, and you’ll make it back outside safely!”
You say that you’ll keep that in mind, and speaking of which, you decide to ask Florette about her relation with the Undercity.
Florette: “It’s like a second home to me! Ever since a good friend of mine moved over there, I’ve been trying to help by donating some supplies whenever I visit. Before then, I had no idea how difficult it could be to grow plants underground.”
Apple Basket: “Is that what these are? Well, that’s mighty kind o’ ya!”
You ask if being a cleric has been an issue, since you were told that the Order of Dawn agreed to not have any presence in the refuge.
Florette: “You’re right, the Order isn’t welcome there. So while I’m in the Undercity, I’m just Florette the pony. No uniform, no strings attached!”
After walking in what feels to be circles for far too long, you eventually reach a large room in the shape of a vertical cylinder, resembling an abandoned cistern. You make your way across to a metal door, and stop in front of what appears to be a camera.
Florette: “Here we are!”
The door clicks and slides open on its own, greeting you with a sudden rush of warm air, and drastic change of scenery. In the room beyond, colourful lights of all shapes and sizes brightly shine upon metal pipes and machines covering the walls. On the ceiling, a large circular window somehow provides an immediate view on the open sky.
As you step inside, a mare welcomes the cleric with a hug and some nuzzles, before looking over to you.
Mare: “Florie, good to see you! You know we appreciate your gifts, but don’t you think ponies are a bit much?”
Florette: “Revel, please, these are visitors. Everypony, this is my friend, Revel Stripes. She’s a bit of a jokester, as I’m sure you can tell.”
You introduce yourselves to Revel Stripes.
Revel Stripes: “Look at that. Not only outsiders, but outlanders, too! Here, put your clothes in one of these before you melt. And your weapons too, while you’re at it.”
Revel Stripes opens a nearby empty locker for you. Starting to feel hot already, you eagerly comply, and store your winter gear and weapons inside.
You store 4 Black Snow Boots, Charcoal Coat, Charcoal Ushanka, Magic Sword Scabbard, and Tan Muffler.
Revel Stripes: “Good, good. I’m guessing Florie will be showing you around, then?”
Florette: “There’s so much to see, I wouldn’t know where to start. Oh! Why don’t I let you decide? Come, take a look at the map over here.”
Florette points you to a large screen on the wall, which displays an interactive map of the Undercity.
To the north is the Work district, which includes the foundry, the factory, the generator, the greenhall, and the water treatment plant.
To the east are the garden, the theatre, and the Hold district, which includes the clinic, the gymnasium, the library, and the spa.
To the south is the Mall district, which includes the aquarium, the arcade, the brewery, the exchange, and the stylist.
To the west is Elysia’s old waterworks.
