You roll an 8 (required 10). Partial success.
 
Hours pass as you sail along the southern coast of the Undiscovered West. You decide to spend some of that time eyeing Apple Basket, that is to say his piloting, and he soon takes notice.
 
Apple Basket: “Uh, what can I do you for?”
 
You tell Apple Basket that you were just trying to figure out how he sails the boat.
 
Apple Basket: “Oh, I see! How’d you like me to teach you the ropes? I could use somethin’ of a break, myself.”
 
You agree to take the colt’s sailing lessons, and learn how to control the mast for speed, and the rudder for steering. Although you make a few mistakes here and there, the calm waters you find yourselves in are a forgiving place to practice.
 
You eventually get the hang of things, and between two conversations, you ask Moonflower how her eyes are holding up in the sunny weather.
 
Moonflower: “The water is super sparkly, but I’ll be okay! I think I saw a jumpin’ fish over there!”
 
Apple Basket: “That’s a dolphin! They may look like fish, but they’re actually mammals just like us…”
 
As the sun begins to set, you stop for a fresh evening meal. You then continue to travel west shortly until you spot a dense spiral of dark clouds up ahead, contrasting with the otherwise fair skies.
 
You cast anchor at a safe distance from the strange storm. With red lightning crackling above the giant whirlpool, there is no mistaking your destination.
 
Apple Basket: “Would you look at that thing! I reckon this is as close as we can get ’less we get pulled in.”
